I really dig this mold, but the paint is a big issue for me. The gold and then bland yellow don't mesh together, and it actually looks worse to me than the previous Animated Bumblebee's contrasting yellow tones.

Wait I thought Hasbro made it the Figure & Mold it's just Takara is the only one that released it?

@Ojunix Hasbro does the basic design work and color choices, Takara tweeks it to work in a toy and engineers it, so they make the mold. It's a collaboration and technically, Transformers is still licensed by Hasbro from Takara, so it's Takara's toyline. Hasbro would love to release it, too, but retailers dont want Animated toys anymore, and since the deluxes at TRU are clogging now, they wont take them, either.

Funny thing, in G1, the first episode of the cartoon, way back in '84, shows BB as a flying, yellow car-shaped vehicle...similar in shape to this complete mode :)

I like the alt. If I could just get the retooled car that would be great. Since the first time I saw it though the armored robot mode has been a !?!WTF!?!

Again nice combined alt, has a sorte type feel to it, but this would have been a pass domestic, and definetly as a import.

The gold finish looks nice and Takara nailed the QC effectively on their Animated figures more than Hasbro does (sloppy paint, loose joints, you know that). Nice Goldbug reference there.

@Strife159Highloch I think the belief was an episode would have revolved around an underwater salvage mission, probably an AllSpark fragment. It was confirmed they planned to use it in the show if they had gotten another season.

@TJOmega I don't even think it will be in any episode since this bumblebee came from Japan. When I saw the picture I was like WTF Takara Prime was nice and show accurate-ish~ but this! THIS!!! Now that bumblebee sitting on my display rack with Prime (I have to get them both =p).

Very nice review! Been sitting on the fence whether to get this version, I like the size but not the color. After watching your video, I'm sold...I will get him as soon as I can...probably will repaint it to the proper yellow after I get him.

Been debating on this one but I think I'll risk waiting for a Hasbro release unless I see this in person, the flat & metallic colors together just don't work well for me. I'll continue to use Activators Bee, I actually have him sit on Bulkhead just like you have him at the end of the vid.
