I don't think he was on drugs or drunk; just appears to be exhausted. I mean, how many times did he sing this song before it probably got stale for him?
@boogiebabe67 This guy was drugged up to high heaven all the time, he was so high it was a feat to get him on the stage. If only he was drug free he could have done much more, like not hitting a tree on the A23.
@HarbiOverdrive I think somewhere on this post, you will see that I mentioned his black girlfriend was driving, they were also in a mini if that helps.
What do you mean a waste?!!! They guy went in and out like a firework. No waste there. Do you think he would have went gracefully in his dotage? Nah Marc Bolan did it his way. He won't RIP, he will still be rocking his little shoes off. ;)
I saw T. Rex concerts, Slade, Rod Stewart, Pink Floyd, Yes, Rick Wakeman, Blondie, the Police, U B 40, Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Marley, Simon & Garfunkel, The Carpenters ... I had so much in the 70's and 80's.
Love it, takes me back to a wonderful era to grow up in. Hot pants, star stuck on my forehead, glitter around the eyes, long hair, long boots, long coat from Oxfam with home-made patches on it....soooooo hip. And a damn-site cheaper than designer-wear of today. We had FUN FUN FUN!! and didn't really give a sh*t what other people thought, just did our own thang ;-)))
@GalDriver1 I only wish I was born In your time, I'm 18 and the music thats directed at my generation nowadays Is absoulout bollocks, It's an Insult to even call It music!
Grew up listening to his stuff..I was a kid then and he was a man..Im now 48 and older than Marc when he died..I miss him and the music he wrote..The songs he left us are still ahead of their time..Some little kid in the future will still say "This guy was a genius and ahead of his time" RIP Marc..sadly missed.
@SuperNutty23 Well, I'm 20, so I'm not nearly old enough to have lived during Marc's time...But his music is as if I took everything I like of that general era of music and distilled it into it's more sublime, that's Bolan's music. Not sure I can say that he's ahead of his time, he seems to be the definition of his time.
smal bl0ke ... huge talent ... he was the 70s ... feel sorry for all you who missed it .. ANN SUDDES I dream about you and miss you all te time, WHEN I SAID THAT I'D LOVE YOU FOR EVER I MEANT IT !!!!
Excellent, and far more interesting than the cookie-cutter version from his MARC television show. This is when T.Rex was a band that distinguished itself from the norm. Lovely.
One of my fondest childhood memories was being given enough pocket money to go & buy this single (7" vinyl of course) running home & playing it over & over until my Dad said after the 100th time that enough was enough. I still have it (& my Dad too!)
OMG I fell in love with Marc in 1970. I was playing a cd in the car the other day and said to my dad, can you remember how I used to play his music non stop (still do).
Damn, he's hot

@wisetrucker So, 'drugged up' or not, how could he have avoided hitting the tree when he wasn't driving (his girlfriend was)?
