One beginners question though: I see you switching fast between dark and light colors (shadows and highlights) while constructing and I don't see you pick them. How do you do that?
@celticart I am probably using the eyedropper tool to select colors from the painting. Just hold down alt and your cursor will change to the eyedropper.
I will shoot steight... How much does a concept artist/ ilustrator earn a year? Sry for that kind of questions but i rly have no1 to ask and i am keen on this, i am studing it and hoping to make it a profesion asap. You can answer me in a private message Thank you :)
@immortaliserwow Honestly, it really depends on the individual artist and the company they work for. It also depends on if you are a concept artist or an illustrator...they make very different salaries. Even in concept art, typically concept art for movies will pay a lot more than concept art for video games. I would say pay ranges from 40k-100k+.
Inspirational, well done Daarken. I gotta paint and draw more - it's so frustrating trying to emulate such incredible work and getting no where close to the quality.
This comes from lots of time spent practicing, and is in no means an overnight process. The more you draw the better and easier things get for you to render out.
It's great to see a professional work. Thanks for taking your time to make this vid!
