1:01 British Asia Airways?! That's what it seems like. I was under the influence that European carriers only made those 'Asia' subsidiaries to fly to Taiwan. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Perhaps the plane in the pic landed for a medical or technical... Or I'm just dead wrong. Love the CX's Spirit of Hong Kong livery (SOHK) at 1:59 and 2:06
if only i was 10 years older, I may have had the opertunity to fly in and out of such an awesome airport as kai tak. I guess ill just have to settle for you tube vids.
Respond to this video... I think the one you are refeering to (the last tail) is Canadian. I don't think AM ever flew to Kai Tak..Thanks for watching..
ccp has more than 300000 internet propaganda dogs, its famous things (its call 五毛党 or 50cent army, etc), ccp`s more than 300000 guy is working everyday 24hours everywhere internet, they deceive their chinks and world people too, they are making fake comment everywhere internet, even youtube too, those ccp`s propaganda dog is try to operate pablic opinion, i can see so many those dogs in youtube, if you go any chinks video, most of chinks commentator is just one of 300000
@hmasurg thx sir ! :-) I took off with United and Air France I landed there with the same airlines, wooooooooooooooooooooooooooow :-) very special adventure :-) sad but it has to be :-(
For those who enjoy aviation and aviation photography there will never be a more spectacular spotting location than Kai Tak, the former international airport of Hong Kong as it served the tiny island and Kowloon from 1925 to 1998. >>> might not look as impressive but try Buthan, looks pretty amazing as well :)
@dellave1 Too bad it was closed. I was recently in HK and visited the old area of Kai tak which is now mainly closed land with parts of it as a pier. Very sad.
@h263456 Thanks for that but this group of photos have not been takien by me and are a testiment to those outstanding photographers who have took them and made aviation history. Please check the description for more information. Thank you for watching and commenting :-)
@paulo2008dias Thanks for watching and commenting - Kai Tak provided an awesome approach, location within the city (so from any angle around the airport you will get great photos) and with the location of Hong Kong most of the aircarft were heavies - those days the twin engine long haul revolution was still in the earlier phases so you would see so many 747 (classic and -400) - WONDERFUL!
@hmasurg kai tak was way better than chek lap kok will ever be. everytime someone says hong kong approach to me i think of a huge 747 making that big turn for landing on runway 13 at kai tak. unforgettable
@oliverjumelle Agreed. While Chek Lap Kok is just "another" great airport for photography.. Kai Tak was and forever will be a photographer and spotters dream! Any angle you shoot from you are bound to get a keeper!
@hmasurg what the chinese and uk govenments did when they built chek lap kok was took away the most loved airport a spotter will ever have. i have one image of a busy hong kong street with alot of people and a huge air france 747 just above there heads. why couldnt they just leave kai tak open like what they did with orly in paris when cdg opened?
@oliverjumelle I'm sure they would say it had alot of environmental and pollution (sound and otherwise) issues.. no take!! not only the location and approach but given that it was in the far east and a major hub most of the flights were heavies and it was in the age of the 747!
@MrForestpotato True. The thanks goes to the outstanding photographers who took it. Kai tak will always be a plethora of aviation photography. Thanks for watching and commenting.
