Hah I find it ironic that God was either too lazy or too incompetent to tell us about sub atomic facts, or maybe He was just too busy discriminating us. Oh wait, God doesn't exist.
WOW Jim al-khalili just went down in my estimation, i cant believe he burned a book, even if it was just an example. Himler would be proud. This is just as if he did a documentary on pedophile preists, and raped a kid as an example. Burning books is the lowest form of mentality (even if its the bible)
@kuprus05 at least I have a video on my channel. If you were to make one I would gladly comment on it and subscribe, because I am caring and interesting like the Luka the Mathematics Guy videos! There will be more posted soon!
The only possible way of redeeming yourself @kuprus05 is by subscribing to the Luka the Mathematics Guy's page. While you are doing so you can watch the video: Luka the Mathematics Guy, integers. It is interesting, fun, and full of knowledgeable.
@LukaMathematicsGuy The BBC News has written an article on Why People Heckle and there conclusion is that people boo when they have little or no respect for the author or their comments.
Don't worry about sources, as there are plenty of them. The University of Connecticut as part of their Sea Grant research (which is a .edu) has explained the mystery of mercury poisoning in hatters thoroughly.
Health problems caused by mercury depend on how much has entered your body, how it entered your body, how long you have been exposed to it, and how your body responds to the mercury. People are at risk when they consume mercury-contaminated fish and when they are exposed to spilled mercury.
Mercury was utilized in the felting process which developed felt from other fabrics. The mercury was absorbed through bare skin and led to psychosis. It's been said that Newton might have suffered a similar sickness.
Very Interesting Video, I really liked it because it was extraordinary, although he seemed to be doing stuff with mercury, I really liked the Beginning but the Guy made me laugh.
excellent documentary (as are all of Jim's), however, the piece about hatters going mad because they used mercury is a bit misleading. The reason why they became "mad as hatters" was because of syphillis. One of the key processes of treating felt was soaking or immersing it in urine, and as syphillis was prevealent at the time, hatters used to take quantities of mercury salts to prevent contraction of this disease through the constant handling of urine, leading to mercury-madness.
My friend and I watched the whole series - he loved it so much he watched all 3 shows at one sitting! My fav was part 2, there is a real beauty to science and the periodic table reminds me of the notes which make up music, and what beauty can be created from it. If it were not for the periodic table and chemistry (and many other sciences, most of us wouldn't be alive today, much less enjoying the lives we do. Thank you very much for posting this.

No, because you think that burning books is some sort of sin against humanity or something.
It's just some book. It's not like it's the fucking Magna Carta or a copy of Principia Mathematica handwritten by Sir Isaac Newton.
