I was watching her on DWTS and thinking wow she looks great for 76 but after seeing the way she looked in her 20's I understand. What a stunning woman.
I disagree. I've never heard this woman, it's the first time for me with this video. This is an operatic style, and yes, it's inapropiate, but she's no bad singer. Reading her about what she's done, seems to me, she just made the wrong choices of when and were to sing.
Even at her best, as here, Henderson's voice was unbeautiful, indeed somewhat harsh. She was a decent singer and good-looking woman, but by no means great in any respect. I've always found her acting rather strident as well -- shucks, Florence, take a deep breath and RELAX before you speak! Do that and you wouldn't come across like fingernails across a blackboard, or at least not so much --
This is monstrous. They took a perfect pop song and ripped out its teeth, neutered it, and then humiliated it. No rhythm, no spirit, no harmonies, no kick.
She really is giving it her "all" here, you can tell! I've noticed over the years that to me she sounds vocally close to Norma Zimmer from the Lawrence Welk Cornball Hour", but not so over the top! :-)
I really like Florence Henderson, as long as she doesn't sing

@bang2b Of course I do, but this is just bad elevator music

@msjosephine2 Find me the elevator that plays this. Florence Henderson is a superb singer.

While I prefer this as an uptempo number, this is a nice arrangement and Florence does a good job with it.

Great song. People who do not like it must shut up and go away instead of typing their negative comments here.

Florence brings out the beauty of this "hit song". Simply beautiful---just like Florence!

Definitly one of the best songs ever written for rock and roll. Florence did her
own take on it. Very Good!

Gee she sounds great to me. Lots of negativity here, but why?

Jeez, I read all the negative comments and was expecting the worst; but it seems just fine to me.

It's like if Petula Clark were to sing this while on 10 sleeping pills. That's what this sounds like.

Bad arrangement. I saw Florence in Vegas in 1973 when she opened for Milton Berle. Very dynamic performer!!!

This is before she met a man named Brady, but she was raising three very lovely girls.

She could sing to me as I softly caress her breasts. I have an afro and my name is Mike so maybe she would like me!

A VERY different interpretation than either Pet Clark or Sonny James...sort of sweet though.

She couldn't handle the verve required to deliver this as Pet did. Good range but no rhythm.
