Betty Hutton and Ella Fitzgerald both did great versions of this song . This version I like very much however . This singer's inability to hit some end notes and being slightly out of tune at times , adds to the sadness of this version , the original version is up beat as if to say Ive made it ... but here it is as if he is trying to convince himself that times are not as bad as they are in his life.. I think it works well. thumbs up
