"haha there's something strangely fun about this" I totally agree. Only overlooked part was in the systematic name you still used 1,2-dicyclobutyl - should of been 1,6 bicyclobutyl.
@MekkaSG Don't be a complete idiot. It has 3 Votes Up so it most likely just recently became a Top Comment. I did not see it when I posted this. Besides, it should be 1,4-dicyclobutyl-5,7 diisobutyl-2-cyclopropylcyclooctane. The naming scheme needs to be in alphabetical order. the butyls would come before the propyl since it comes earlier in the alphabet. Now shut up and keep yourself busy by making me a sandwich.
@georgyorgy2 with diisobutyl and cyclopropyl why would u not count the cyclo part as coming before in the alphabet? and with isobutyl dont u use the iso part to determine its position in the alphabetical order?? im sincerely asking because i would like to know for future refrence.
@georgyorgy2 Isobutyl is considered as one word, in contrast sec-butyl is considered 2 words and so the B is considered when determining alphabetic order, but since he has used isobutyl the "b" is not considered as the first letter "i" is, hence the alphabetical order.
why put "Di" when the numbers like 1,6 will notify there are already 2 groups we're talking about? why not just put 1,6 - cyclobutyl, instead of 1,6 Di-cyclobutyl.
what if you started numbering from the other cyclobutyl and proceed clockwise? will you have a wrong answer? i think it will give you lower sets of numbers like 1,4-dicyclobutyl instead of 1,6 and 2 cyclopropyl instead of 7-cyclopropyl.

@PawanR88 Yeah, its kind of redundant but thats the IUPAC rules haha.

I was always under the impression that you cannot have a three carbon ring? is it possible to have a cyclopropyl? I mean is cyclopropyl a real thing?

wouldn't it be 1,4-dicyclobutyl-2-cyclopropyl-5,7-diisobutylcyclooctane because it gives the lowest number combination?

shouldn't 2,4 di iso butyl be written before 7 cyclopropyl, cause you also have to consider the iso in the name?

SO, it s okay to start numbering where theirs a fragment group attached to the main group.?
