Hair gel and craft store glitter? That's pretty much asking to be blinded. Hair products aren't meant for your eyes, and chances are, your craft store glitter is milled from plastic bits, which can blind you if they get in your eye and damage your cornea. A tiny bit of lash glue works great for adhering glitter and is actually meant to go on your eye area, and there are tons of cosmetic glitters and glitter adhesives that are available as well.
WOW! I am a dance teacher and I have been looking for tips on how to effectively give my girls an eye makeup look that really pops and still looks glamorous. This is PERFECT! Thank you so much for posting this. This looks so pretty!!! Amazing job!
This is cute. I've watched hundreds of make up tutorials & people are gon' use what they want. I've seen more people use hobby glitter, yes, even professional make up artists. NYX makes the bomb glitter for eyes. Merry Christmas, Honey Bunnies!
I agree with Ellie. Using glitters that are not cosmetic grade is EXTREMELY dangerous. if the glitter should fall into your eye, it can scratch your corneas. there are cosmetic grade glitters that are cut much smaller than hobby store glitter. the look is beautiful, however , please don't risk your sight!
Please for future use find a cosmetic grade glitter as craft glitters are not meant for the face at all. They can and have caused people to go blind. As a MUA I can tell you that cosmetic glitters don't cost that much. Check out Medusa's Makeup, Nyx, MAC for great glitters in a wide range of colors. Also hair gel is not meant for the eyes...chemicals that can again cause blindness. There are cosmetic adhesives out there you can use that are safe for use on the eyes.
I love this and will be trying it for Christmas. Thanks for the inspiration. You made it look so smooth. I hope I don't end up with a glittered face. :-)
Wow! The green glitter looked amazing against your beautiful skin tone. I am too white to wear that color glitter, in my opinion. You look fabulous though. One question about the glitter for you. Because you bought it in the craft store & not in a cosmetic area, does the package state if the glitter is safe for the eye? My GF got a bad corneal abrasion from craft glitter. She was messed up for almost 2 weeks & had to wear an eye patch. She said it was painful. Take care of your eyes.
Umm so i'm a competitive cheerleader, so i have to use glitter eye-makeup alot, you shouldn't use glitter on your eye's or where it can get into your eyes unless it's meant for that. If you use other glitter it can get in the eye and scratch it.
@MulanPocahontas26 Well, she shouldn't have used craft glitter..thats a metallic based glitter and she can get it in her eye and scratch the crap out of it..however I am a freelance artist and I do makeup as well. They do make makeup glitter that's paper based and safe for application to the eyelids. Instead of using hair gel *cringe* I suggest either using a non scented lotion dabbed onto the lids or plain chapstick works well. I prefer to use the chapstick ..it lasts longer and holds well ^_^
Hey Miss, this is HAIRapy. I have been awaiting your YouTube arrival and this is BEAUTIFUL!! I've subscribed too. *off to check out your other videos* :)

It's a beautiful look but you need to use the appropriate products for it. And those products can cost less than what you are using.
