Actually, in act 2 the top path is the WAY easier path, as you avoid the water rising sequence and you get an invincibility box right before the boss.

The sonic classics were nowhere near as fast as the day stages in Sonic Unleashed, levels like Marble Zone, Scrap Brain, the infamous underwater maze, Casino/Carnival night, Hill top, Mystic Cave (i can go all night) come to mind.

Anyway, I thought I should point out a little trivia tidbit for this boss battle, though I know fellow fans will probably know this already.

In real life, a hedgehog's spines are for protection. The same holds true for Sonic here. If you can't pull the trick in the vid, and don't feel like dodging, when Robotnik goes to attack, duck. The attack will hit his spines and break away harmlessly!

Of course, again, I'm sure everyone knew that...

i always thought this zone was easy just need abit of patience for the part when the chemical stuff rises

never had a problem with this zone even back in 92-93 when i was 5, now DEZ and the last boss that was hard at the time

I got and played this game in 93-94; in 92-93 I had played the first Sonic, but here in Sonic 2 just like u I had really no probs w/ this stage; the Death Egg stage I personally felt was somewhat an intimidation; I took my time defeating Eggman cause I was always being too careful.

I don't know if anyone realized this, but in Chemical Plant zone, when going through those transport tubes, where you end up depends on what the timer says when you enter. An odd number on the timer, example, 1:03, 2:15 etc. will take you one way, and and even number, 1:02, 2:14 for example will take you another way. He has it in debug mode, so it's hard to tell on this run.

Yes, try it on Act 2 when you hit the first transport tube. There's two different ways to go.

Yup, I JUST encountered that glitch... I went waaaaay fast through a loop and then Sonic got stuck on the top, entering a wall >.>

he fell out after a few seconds, but it sure was weird.

And then I got a Chaos Emerald in that zone, and the pallette of the score countdown screen was all f-ed up :S
