2) Even if it did use the same engine it would make no difference, they could make a game identical to Halo 3 in the Reach engine. It's all about what the developers decide to do with it.
I think the BR made it easier. I played Halo 3 a few days ago, and it's much easier to kill people in it. You don't even have to pace your shots like Reach.

Halo 3 is the best fps I have ever played. I loathed what they did in Reach with the "classes" and the abilities, it just fucked up the escence and simpleness of the game. Didn't like the graphics either, they looked kind of laggy or idk, but Halo 3 looked better for me.

@mattuiop Look, I've been a Halo fan since the beginning of Halo 2. I'm part of a halo fan site, and play A LOT. Halo 2's multiplayer I couldn't put down, Halo 3's was even better, but Reach just struck a different cord. I found myself not enjoying it as much as I did the previous Halo games. I think the fact that it is different is what makes it less fun. I don't like the DMR as much, hate most armor abilities, and while forge is definitely upgraded, it still feels more limiting for some reason

Honestly, Halo 2 was the pinnacle of the halo multiplayer series. Everyone has the same "gear" and skill made the matches. Games like CoD you get your perks the more you play. The Halo Reach haters need to chill out on bashing Bungie like they do. It's cool if you didn't like the game as much as halo 3 or halo 2, but that's no reason to say Bungie didn't do a good job.
Bungie spent more time and work on Reach than any other game they've ever made. The employees themselves said that it was the most ambitious thing that they'd worked on.
You can't get mad at Bungie because they felt the need to change it up a bit. At least they're not like Infinity Ward and Treyarch.

@ClusiveC U are so right. It had tonnes of things that are fun and addictive and I still play the game until this very day. Hate to say, but halo fans are so ungrateful about everything. Nothing is ever perfect for them. Trust me. This cycle of "hating the latest game" will carry on. They will say that reach was better than halo 4 by 2013. it happened after every other release. While COD fans are just blind about infinity ward being lazy on the development of MW3.

@mattuiop Look, I've been a Halo fan since the beginning of Halo 2. I'm part of a halo fan site, and play A LOT. Halo 2's multiplayer I couldn't put down, Halo 3's was even better, but Reach just struck a different cord. I found myself not enjoying it as much as I did the previous Halo games. I think the fact that it is different is what makes it less fun. I don't like the DMR as much, hate most armor abilities, and while forge is definitely upgraded, it still feels more limiting for some reason

@chris101b I've been playing halo since halo 1. Bungie tried to pull off the same effect with halo 1 where every good it good as each other. I'd rather not be too extreme about the DMR being "WORST WEAPON EVER" and just cos of bloom, anti climatic campaign and AA's, doesn't mean its "WORST GAME EVER" when this still beats cod by miles in my point of view.

Many of the fun custom games that we were able to play in Halo 3 are impossible to play in Reach. The pacing of the game just seems..... off now.

I'm saying that Halo Reach was my least favorite Halo game out of the ones released. I think many would agree. It had the weakest story and character development (Although ODST wasn't THAT great story-wise either), and IN MY OPINION the multiplayer isn't as fun as Halo 1, 2, or 3. I still play it though because I am such a huge fan of the series.

@VeNoMzVids No, all Halo games run on 30 fps. Call of Duty runs at 60 fps. It's a feature they tend to brag about a lot because not many other games run at that speed. And yes, I know what I'm talking about. I'm on a Halo fan site and there have been plenty of posts discussing if Halo should make the jump to 60 fps or if it should stay at 30. Do some research if you don't believe me, but don't prance about and say that I don't know what I'm talking about when that is apparently your job.

The only reason why the number of players dropped considerably in Reach is because you have so many of these other games that are epic coming out.
Halo 3 didn't have to go up against a Modern Warfare 3, which as of right now, has about 1 milliion online players.
Halo 3 was incredibly unique back in 2007, and it wasn't a prequel to the series, it was the conclusion.

Honestly, Halo 2 was the pinnacle of the halo multiplayer series. Everyone has the same "gear" and skill made the matches. Games like CoD you get your perks the more you play. Halo 2 was a even playing field and noobs got to lvl 10 and better players got to 40-45...after that was hacksville. Halo 2 was what halo series, not halo 3.

halo reach isn't all out over 2 years because you have games like Battlefield 3, Homefront, Modern warfare 3, skyrim, etc.
Reach doesn't take more skill, true, but Reach is more exciting to play. Just look at all the maps and gametypes and machinimas people have created.
