The reason that we have superiors, whether in the military or in a company, is that they get to make the decisions, and they become responsible for the decisions that are taken.

As a human being if someone asks you (or orders you) to do something that you know is wrong, you have but one choice, to refuse.

All actions have consequences. Whatever the circumstances, you have to do what you believe is the right thing. Torturing another human being should never be one of those things. End of story.

If a superior gives an order and it ends up that order was the right one to do, they reap the reward, but if a superior gives an order that ends up being the wrong one, the persons that followed that order end up being the ones accused of doing the wrong thing. How fair is that?

let's say you are working at a company that basically says that you must follow whatever the superior says or you will be reprimanded for not following orders, like being suspended or even being terminated from the job.

So you do everything that you superior says. One day, he gives you an order an ends up being the wrong one, but they blame you for following the orders like you were expected to do. Again, how fair is that?
