F1 has been many years of Finns favourite! Just too shame that nowdays we can watch F1 only from pay-TV! It's like WRC, before it was free to everyone LIVE, now it's behind pay-tv for everyone! Shame on us Finnish!!!!!!!
how about last lap? no nothing serious really, i just thought to slow down as much as possible that i could see them from my mirrors. as you saw i almost stopped the car to the last shigane but they were too far atm *wink*
he says something like there's no place for explanations, he was just trying to get a good start and that it was a good start, and after it, he just had to maintain his position. He thanks the team and says that he was confident, and the car worked perfectly and hope that everyone had a fun time watching the race. He admits that the last ten laps felt rrreeeally long and that there was some oil on the track because of one of Benetton's cars had retired. He says he slowed down on the last lap...
... so that he could have seen Ferrari's from his mirrors, you know, it would have been funny, he says. He says that it's great that all mistakes and failures he had felt and suffered, it just felt great. And because it was morning in Finland at the time, he said that Good morning and have a nice breakfast with scrambled eggs. That's about it... i did not translate the whole things, just the main things he was talking about...

Mika Is my favourite F1 driver to date, (Even though I'm English :P )
I like his personality, sense of humour and passion.
To come back to F1 after nearly dieing takes a massive amount of bravery.
Thanks for the memories Mika !

Hakkinen was a hero in my house in England. We miss him very much for not racing in F1 anymore.

Vähä eri ku Räikköse haastattelut.
hippihiiri 2 years ago 12
Niinpä. Tän jälkeen tuntuu Räikkösen jutut entistä kuivemmilta. Ja Kovalainenkin keskittyy nykyään selittelyyn joka haastattelussa.

Thanks for the translation.
Mika has a great, dry sense of humour.Even in English-you can sense it even more so in Finnish from his face and smile. What a hero!

Thanks man! great translation. I wish i had time to learn Finnish, it sounds like an impressive language.

Too bad i cannot understand the finnish language, i did like to watch this. Hakkinen is a true double time f1 champion.
