  • about time julian clary got his OBE

  • When mythbusters tested pain differences between men and women neither were really much better than the other

  • Anyone asks me to do anything, I do it so badly that no one ever asks me to do it again. Like any other smart man.

  • Fu*k it, that'll do.

  • Jo actually sounds like my father; her husband sounds like my mother.

And yet he was the sole breadwinner.

  • If Jo couldn't make the "my husband" or "I'm fat and old" jokes, she'd have nothing to say.

  • @soundslave but she does

  • @soundslave That's the genius of shtick ... repeat the same jokes all the way to the bank!

  • @jerryg1964 but who's going to buy tickets to your new tour if you're just going to use the same material as the last one?

  • @soundslave new material on the same topics in the same style, but keeping it just fresh enough to keep the audience coming back for more. Once you establish a persona or character you can keep milking it (see Larry the Cable Guy). Not saying it's innovative, just effective

  • @jerryg1964 If a joke is predictable then it's not funny.

  • @soundslave I agree ... I don't go for that sort of humor, just saying that many do

  • i like cheese!

  • I hope that technology becomes so advanced that when you wake up at 3 AM and find yourself with some relentless curiosity that you get out of bed and go to your computer to be greeted by a virtual Stephen Fry...

    That is our future...

  • I love how Alan loses on the last question, Dara only had 3 points and Alan ended up with -144 points and if he didn't lose -150 points for saying "Randy" then he would have been positive 6 points. LOL.

  • What was Alan's buzzer? 1:34

  • @JulkaWilCZuR pretty curious myself!

  • Comment removed

  • Mr. Fry, you look great in the new Sherlock Holmes movie.... LOL. those that have seen it know what im talking about.

  • I didn't watch the video a second time to check, but I believe Jo has sprung most of the traps and Alan actually had some good (and quite interesting) answers. How did he end up with -144 lol

  • @misterkami2 at the very end. Stephen explained that anyone who said "Randy" ghandi would lose 150 points.

so Alan would've won with +6 points had he not said it :)

  • 16:06 your welcome

  • Why is alan davies always on here????

  • @ads90100 hes just a permanent contestant so they bounce funny comments off each other. i watched the making of and they said they wanted someone opposite to fry so they can play off each others wittiness...or some shit like that.

  • @ads90100

    Because he's f*cking hilarious!

  • Has anyone noticed that Fry sometimes speaks the greatest load of shite? "Teenage boys communicate by farting, essentially." Listen to yourself Fry, will you? I think he's gotten so caught up in the whole QI thing of revealing unusual facts that he just goes overboard. Rory McGrath actually corrected him a few times, which I dont think he liked. He craves the attention he gets from revealing unusual info and sometimes he just goes overboard. I dont think I believe what he says all the time now.

  • @Selinor578 I was a teenage boy once. And i communicated by farting.

No, but seriously; 'You believe everything that's on tv?'

  • "Four DIFFERENT guests." At that moment I was hoping they'd cloned Alan.

  • Joe brand is absolute shite

  • At the queen story I literally cried laughing. Tears running down my face. I have never laughed so hard oh my god

  • 21.54, oldschool facebook noise.

  • 17:12 Christ Steven!

  • Jo is right about multitasking, the missus asks me to hoover the house and I do end up moving the furniture out into the garden so I'm able to clean every nook and cranny in the house.

  • Clary's always good for a cock joke.

  • What's the difference between Herring and a teenage boy? One can cut down the mightiest tree in the forest.

  • appears I'm an early bird tonight at 11:25pm

  • i LOVE it when Stephen Fry knows he's gone over the line...brilliant!

  • 01:35 am

    nothing to do

    qi

  • @luclfersangel616 Yep, 3am, me too.

  • @JayUK84 Only 12.30am here, gonna be here for a fair few hours though.

  • this show is more awesome when you watch it with someone. of course im talking to the internet, all of you are single men :p

  • @hoosherdaddy Your mom is a single man.

Sorry; I was just trying to get into the youtube culture?

  • Also, women have less social/psychological incentive to be stoic!

  • -144 lol

  • Alan would have actually won for once if he hadn't said Randy Gandhi, I'm happy he did though because that was a brilliant way to end.

  • i love jo brand...she's one of my favorite panelists. she's also well liked by many other people, which is why she has been asked back to QI so many times. so all you haters can take it and shove it :)

  • @fujikokun A friend of a friend actually went through and did a lot of complicated math and statistics gathering, and Jo Brand actually accounts for, I think it was something like 41% of the female panelists on the show. (A year ago, anyway, I don't know what the recent figures are.)

  • I DO NOT communicate with farts... :P

  • lol minus 144

  • what's the name of the episode of this hilarious show where we get to see Stephen Fry wearing a T-shirt(or something similair to that)?

  • Comment removed

  • Is it just me, or has Alan Davis become shockingly more educated during his time on these shows, possibly as a result of constant study of bathroom trivia books?

  • Thank you so much- subscribed.

  • Stephen Fry for God, Pope, and Prime Minister

  • jo brand gets on here cos shes related to stephen fry

  • @j0d13xxx via charlemagne

  • @j0d13xxx Or because she's hilarious

  • Great stuff. Stephen is a genius and great friends w/my favorite public intellectual Christopher Hitchens.

  • What's the similarity between teenage boys and herrings? They get pickled a lot.

  • I wish my chem tests were scored like QI where 3 points awards you a win.

  • Haha Allen would've won if he didn't say Randy!!! mINUS 150 Points

  • In my opinion Jo Brand is underestimated... she's a highly intelligent and very funny woman :)

  • @bryonythompson I agree with you there, but I like her better on Would I Lie To You and other comedy oriented shows. A LOT better. She complains too much about Stephen's longer science rants and that's really irritating when most people watch the show for his rants.

  • @bryonythompson

    is she fuck lol !!!!!

  • @bryonythompson Haven't seen any evidence.

  • @bryonythompson Maybe, but "I am fat" and "I hate all men" jokes are getting pretty annoying -.-"

  • @bryonythompson So is Alan. He is also very clever but doesn't show it for the comedy :)

Actually most comedians make it seem as though they're not very clever to get more laughs xD

  • @bryonythompson pfft women

  • I find Jo brand about as funny as popping my own testes in a mechanical vice.

  • Is the sound on this clip very bad, like, keeps under say 10kHz, or is my hearing bad?

  • I want Alan Rickman or Helena Bonham Carter on this show!! Their humour is amazing!!

  • Whoa... Julian Clary looks so young!

  • @rockermanmatt What joke is that?

  • They should bring Julian Clary back, he's a surprisingly decent guest

  • Oh great, Jo Brand.... Again.

Tell us the joke about you being fat Jo, you know, the one you tell every other 15 min's.

  • @megabyteme64

I couldn't agree more. Jo Brand is the least original, inspiring comedian ive seen on TV. There are so many lesser known but far better comdians on the UK circuit. How she keeps getting these slots on comedy shows, i will never know.

  • The buzzers were good together :D

  • Julian Clarey is by far the worst guest on QI ever. It's hard to believe he's a comedian at all based on that performance.

  • @Pazma1 i know, she didn't make me laugh once at all

  • @Pazma1 Johnny Vegas. Ronni Ancona. Rob Brydon. They all get on my nerves. Clarey is a relief compared to them.

  • Almost shat myself watching this episode.......... :¬)

  • lolwut?! someone watched this and didnt like it? must have been deaf and blind >.>

  • Alan would have won with 6 points!

  • lol, 111 like, 1 dislike

  • The tabletennis vs ping pong comment: Jo's best line ever? :)

  • And I.... shat myself.

  • Things are a little lax down there....I fell on the floor laughing at that point...freakin hilarious coming from Fry. :)

  • Jo Brand loves Julian. :)

  • Awww. Alan would have won if he hadn't said Randy.

  • @IFeelASongCominOn pssst it was a joke but you are right they very rarely right on QI

  • The ping-pong vs tabletennis comment from Jo is just about the funniest thing I've ever heard from her. I laughed! :)

  • I love stephen saying that cock will lay a white egg

  • Poor Dara and his imaginary Asian cold-footed wife.

  • @IFeelASongCominOn not really, for instance, it's quite interesting that the 'borg' are controlled by a queen-like creature thru a 'hivemind'.

It is, however, NOT a truth, since the borg only exist in a sci-fi series.

Same with Qi, they bring up stuff about greek mythology, it doesn't mean it ever happened.

  • @IFeelASongCominOn .. it's called comedy...

  • Nobody knew it was mouhandus? (Excuse the spelling.)

  • @jerryhello100 mohandas

  • julian refuses to laugh at Alan's quips

  • @NoRegretsForOurYouth yeah, I was noticing that myself, wonderying why.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't Alan have won if he didn't say randy at the end?

  • I love how Julian and Jo sound basically the same, haha

  • Launched from the vagina of a Thai woman...

jesus christ... My chair is now broken.

  • Julian is hilarious! Who is he? He's sort of smugly perverse, yet still classy.

  • @Bobstew68 its david bowies daughter

  • Muscles a little lax down there. lol

  • I'm quite surprised that noone made a fart joke when Fry explained "Uman" at 24:30

  • Mah hat please mutha

  • Great British humour and wit, intelligence at it's subtle finest. Great work Stephen and your fabulous crew.

  • My friend was born with half of her organs outside her body, and now her organs are half on the right side and half on the opposite side from where they're meant to be....

  • Randy Ghandi

  • I can imagine that encounter with the Queen as she's shaking everyone's hand...

"Pleased to meet you, your majesty." *holds out hand* "...On second thought, pull my finger."

  • -144? alan would've won twice in a row if he didn't say randy gahndi D:

  • Don't play wiff-waff with the riff-raff... Daphne.

    Best. Line. Ever :)

  • I'd love to see Russell Brand on this one day

  • @VoodooChileJ11 Russell Brand is a tool. Unfunny, untalented and unwanted, especially on a show requiring a bit of intelligence.

  • @TheJeanvic I don't get all the hate he gets to be honest. Despite common belief, he actually is quite intelligent. His style of comedy isn't really my cup of tea, but he gets unbelievably harsh criticism that I genuinely don't think he deserves.

  • @TheJeanvic

Russell Brand could be funny if he wasn't just a rip off of Nihal Arthanayake's life.

  • @lesterclaypool1 And yet Russell Brand is more famous and is actually known. I had to google up this Nihal person just to see who you were talking about.

  • @endzordays What does fame and being known have to do with stealing someone else's material?

  • @lesterclaypool1 where would your proof be that he was stealing some random oscure persons "Material". From a quick search this guy didn't enter into anything until 2002. From the look of things Russell Brand had his first significant appearance in 2000. Hmmm I'd have to say Nihal was stealing his material if they are even comparable.

  • @endzordays

Nihal was signed on to the BBC in 2002, he had been everywhere in music and entertainment in London since 1990. As I asked before what does fame and being known, or when someone got some kind of major exposure, have to do with stealing someone's material?

  • @lesterclaypool1 And you still have not mentioned what material he has stolen. I find it rather humerous that not once has Nihal stood up and gone "He's stealing my material eh". In fact you're the very first person i've heard mention he was stealing material and you mentioned a completely obscure person

  • @endzordays

I suppose your opinion that DJ Nihal is "obscure" comes from your geographical location. It isn't a matter of stealing "material" he literally is Nihal. You can check out Nihal on Never Mind The Buzzcocks for reference.

As for Nihal not addressing Brand's likeness to him: Perhaps he thinks that imitation is flattery? Or perhaps his own success, that doesn't include marrying a woman for international exposure, makes him unconcerned? I can't say for sure, I'm not Nihal.

  • @endzordays

    Part 2

I do find it very funny, though, that you're defending Brand while admitting to knowing nothing about Nihal. I get it though, I used to defend Frank Zappa tooth and nail until I found out that he actually was an impossible dictator in the work place and pretty much an asshole in every other regard.

Go watch the Buzzcocks videos then we'll continue the conversation.

  • @lesterclaypool1 Well I just watched an episode of this buzzcocks show. Of an episode that Nihal appeared on. The only similarity I picked up on was that they have a similar accent. Which isn't that hard to believe as they grew up about 20 miles apart. Their humor, matter of dress, physical speech (movements while talking) are different. The pitch of volume they use while speaking is different. I will say that Nihal is indeed funny but it's a different type of funny.

  • @endzordays

I think that Nihal has become very, I don't know if this is the right word but, gentrified since he's been on the Beeb. His live shows, when I lived in the UK in the early 90's, we're raunchy and wild.

I think that Brand's radio shows, especially with Simon Amstell as guest, were comedy gold. Now, I just see a lot of Nihal's early schtick in what he does. To be fair, it is possible that it was just a popular comedy style and that there was no more influence than that.

  • Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi actually

  • Alan would have won until his last answer.

  • Flat on the floor! This is really one where they get to... ping-pong off each other!

  • Thank you for uploading these, having a laugh at 3.30 a.m. enjoying this series.

  • Mohandas K. Gandhi

    K for Karamchand

  • They should do this in America someday.

  • @collegeslammer They should've done this in America yesterday

  • @collegeslammer

    they have

  • Alan was at 6 poings before he said Randy? 0.o

  • Thanks again for the re-uploads of these!

  • Love seeing Jo pissing herself at julian's story

  • I think Jo brand is funny but sometimes she can seem a bit depressed, probably the reason why she does it. Don't judge her too harshly she is obviously a cool person to know at dinner party's.
