It's because it's only legal by state law and not at the federal level. Here in Canada, it's legal throughout the country and it's provided by health canada a division of the government.

Depends how you use marijuana. Certainly if you smoke it there's plant matter there that's probably not at all good for you. However you could ingest it by mixing it with brownies and cookies. You could use a vaporizer to smoke it so plant matter isn't an issue. It's completely safe in those instances.

@davitodude It would be easier to use marijuana in a healthy way if it were legal. A marijuana vaporizer is 200 to 400 dollars. By the time I pay bills and save up 400$ im gonna tune up my car, not buy a vaporizer. Its not practical. Baking 60$ worth of pot in brownies is also too expensive. I would eat it instead of smoking if I could grow my own. I love pot and smoke about a bowl a day. Anyways, I think the positives to smoking pot greatly outweigh the negatives.

I personally don't have any "serious" illness, just joint pain and some stiffness. I can say that during a slight depression I went through, after a serious sports injury, pot helped me recover. Both physically and mentally. I didn't know at the time but marijuana helps with inflammation. I had a knee injury, and pot helped expedite the healing process. No i did not have surgery so nothing involving blood.

you are right if its growing every were they will not be able to stop it. There is a old farm about 20 miles from my house that once grew hemp and now there is still wild hemp growing on that old farm and the DNR and police have been trying to kill it all every scene it became illegal. If they cant stop one small plot of wild hemp thats less than 1/4 of an acre they cant stop it if we all planet seeds.

they know its harmless and have for a long time, there's just to big of a push from law enforcement, timber companies, paper companies and so forth to keep it illegal. If its legal the police will lose lots of funding and many will lose their jobs. many lumber and paper companies will go out of business so these people throw millions of dollars at keeping it illegal.
