Great job on the Marlin thats a nice one.I dont care what species of shark it is if that doesnt teach you that you have to have respect and know your place in the sea then i dont know what would i give the shark credit you know he was hearing that marlin in distess when you hooked it then the mako looks right at you that would have to give you chills !

In no way is this guy a dumbass. Its not like this was a Reef Shark, this shark is about as close as you can get to a White Shark, and it does look like one. These guys took some awesome video, without doing anything to antagonize, or even attract it. Since it is probably a huge Mako, makes it even better; if you research some of the wild stories associated with this fish. Zane Grey said he had a 17 footer with 4 foot pectoral fins land on the back of his boat, probably well over 1,500 pounds!

Love watching this video, must have watched it 20 times. Everytime I see it I think to myself, "So this is the fish Zane Grey fame, the fish that gets gutted in the water, hauled on deck, and revives an hour later...SCARY!!!" You guys should get one of those Go Pro video cameras, they are HD and waterproof. But the whole thing, the water, the sky, the rainforrest on the mountains in the distance, AWESOME. Add to it a heck of a nice marlin and that Monsta Mako, you guys are really kick'n it.

These fish are known for making things real personal real quick. Strong possibility of this girl leaping 20’ above your boat, crashing down on it on purpose, and killing anybody big enough to die! Out of the water, her thrashing would be a blur, smashing everything she comes in contact with, turning harmless gear into shrapnel, all the while looking you in the eye while she snaps her jaws, knowing that sooner or later someone will get close enough to bleed. LMAO! A Mako so big its hard to tell that its not a White Shark!!! Seriously, I would love to fly out there. These guys sound like a lot of fun & obviously know where and how to fish. HOWEVER, setting the hook on any Mako, but especially THAT Mako, is something you better be prepared for. This girl is acting like a lady in front of the camera, but hooking up with her could go on for hours and hours, or she may decide to get in the boat with you for a quicky.

2:10, you can clearly see the eyes are behind the front of the lower jaw. White Sharks eyes are ahead of the lower jaw. You are looking eye to eye with a Falcon of the ocean. This animal lives by the blood, she makes her living by spilling it (after she takes off the tail fins of large fish), and blood is what she smells here. Even in this video, you can feel the spirit of this mighty animal. I bet she would send a chill up anythings spine. SPEED, POWER, ENDURANCE, ATTITUDE, AND BLOODLUST.

Wow, you guys got so see a great animal. Nice job. If its not a White Shark, it is a HUGE Mako. At the 2:00 mark, when it comes to the back of the boat, its got a really pointed snout, and what looks to be a dark back, silver sides, and a white belly. I was not there, and there are White Sharks in Hawaii, but that sure looks like a gigantic Mako to me. No matter what name someone gives it, that is one mean looking fish. Awesome. What do you think???

Guys this is a white shark. Makos have leaner bodies and built for speed. Look at the tail and side when it runs up along the boat. you get a full side view front to back.

Definitely a Mako. Very pointed snout while Great Whites are more blunt. Also has a black strip down the trailing edge of the dorsal fin. Great White is all gray. Nice video and great experience though.

It's a Mako. Still, they are arguably just as dangerous. Only reason great whites account for more human attacks is they like to hang closer to shore. Mako's are opposite, they like to cruise the open blue.. hence the encounter. Still, great footage of an amazing creature of the sea..
