What a fantastic voice I'm blown away, got to find some Ed Bruce songs for our radio show, plus Ed Bruce should of been on the list of stars appearing at the relaunch of the International Festival of Country Music here in Wembley London along with Reba McEntire and the new whippersnapper from NM Will Banister...Randy Williams
tyvm for this awesome video. Ed has been a fav of mine for so many years, I quit counting :) ty his voice is still strong and this is one of my fv songs.
I did not realize that Ed Bruce was such a great country singer. I love this video and thank you for posting...great country stuff!!! I will listen to more than just this song now that I have found him out. What a great voice! .
Love these lines: "Her talkin' blue eyes told me / the story of the love she failed to find / And without conversation I suppose / the lines on my face told her mine....." - Great song written by Ed Bruce & Ronnie Rogers.
This was a song that an old love and me shared for some time. He was from south carolina and I was from texas. He was 37 and i was 20. I really loved him and we loved this song. I hadn't spoke to him in 35 years until I found his number and left this song as the message on his phone. He knew who it was and called me back and we had such a good talk! This was just last week. But my point is that these good old songs are ageless and this was a dear one to these 2 old lovers. Thank you!
MAN, I'M A SOUL BROTHER, AND THIS GENTLEMAN GOT CHOPS!! THIS SONG AND THE SINGER IS TOUCHING. BEAUTIFUL. THOSE LOVELY LADIES IN ATTENDANCE. TRULY LEGENDS. THANK YOU COUNTRY MUSIC.
I'm a 30's something Texan country music lover...since birth. Ed Bruce has one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard. He never got his due, imo. Love him and always will!
@hunterman1957 guessing that you were born in 1957 i hope you know there is older country, than this song from the 80's. johnny cash, bob wills, hank sr, eddy arnold, townes van zandt, billy joe shaver, and then of course willie and waylon.
I have watched this many times in the last few years and I'm always so happy when it's still here to enjoy. This guy is amazing -- how does he still stay so "young" at his age??? What a voice and what a personality and what a presence. This particular song reminds me of an important era in my life. Long ago, of course. But seeing all these folks assembled is heart warming.
Outstanding!!! This got me to find his official website and see that he's still spinning out tunes. I spotted him last year still acting as a politician in the film 'Public Enemies'. I'm off to buy a new Bruce Album!
Outstanding!!! This got me to find his official website and see that he's still spinning out tunes. I spotted him last year still acting as a politician in the film 'Public Enemies'. I'm off to buy a new Bruce Album!
@jekiwe yes thats lane, doesnt she still look great, like i said b4 ed sure shows his age but his voice is still tops. Ronnie McDowell looks strung out on something and boy has T Graham Brown packed on weight
Is that Buck Trent holding the mic.? I aked him for his autograph in Branson, he said "Mayby Later". I told him "if you don't have time for me now,I won't have time for you later", and left. If it wasn't for Porter Wagoner, he would be sweeping floors at a restaurant somewhere. Jerk
@Sunburst64 some of them are jerks. my two sons at the age of 4and 6, asked george jones for an autograph and he completely ignored them. it was at his show in Lake Charles, Louisiana. they were fan club members at that time. there was one other kid there besides mine and he ignored him too. i could understand if 500 people were beating down his door for an autograph. just three little boys that idolized GJ. we still love and listen to his music. i guess you could say that was acting like a jerk
Ed Bruce is also one of country music's Greatest Song Writers. he definatly is one of my favorite vocalist. Roy Clark just sat there with his mouth open. What he was hearing was stiring his soul
I liked this song when I was a kid. I'm 33 now and didn't think I could like it anymore than I did then. I was wrong. This is one of the best ever. The voice!

@Houston8888 theres a tv cable show on network rfdtv that shows a lot of these shows, the network is about country life, horses, cattle, farming and country music ect .... great channel .. theres also a great song he did on the show at larrys diner same channel called " I KNOW " about a man who lost his son and is and tell GOD about how he feels but GOD tells him he knows because he to GOD, lost his son.... I'm trying to find the single for this song but can't seem to find it....
Yo brotherhamlet - what happened to the other postings of all these great singers..they disappeared off U tube by the looks..?? Lacy, Larry, Janie, Lynn, etc...duh were they pulled off?

I cannot help but think of my g/f when I hear this song. She has green eyes but also the biggest mop of beautiful golden blonde hair. She used to be a shampoo model on national TV and she still has that beauty.

For any 'older' cowboy who found love with someone a bit younger, this song rings true...
Her gentle heart was broken,
In a way a tender lady shouldn't have to know.
And mine was somewhere in between.
Somethin' I should hold on to or let go.
Her talkin' blue eyes told me,
The story of the love she failed to find.
And without conversation I suppose,
The lines on my face told her mine.
So true. The lines on my face tell many stories. I've earned them. I'll share them.
