i would like to know, if you are trying to tell us with this video that at hospitals nurses don't write the care plan? or does the computer do it for you? please reply
No, I am not trying to tell anyone that nurses don't write care plans. Nurses write care plans based on the patients needs, their expertise and various resources available. Care Plan Designer is merely another resource for the nurse. It is a repository of generic standards of care that the nurse or nurse manager collects for the specific needs of the nurse in their nursing practice or the facility establishes for their types of patients.
Then, assessing the needs of a specific patient, the nurse selects standards of care from the database and using their nursing expertise, edits the generic standards of care selected to the specific patient.
As a nurse, you might have a book of generic nursing care plans as a reference. Or your facility might have a notebook of generic nursing care plans that have been accumulated over a period of time and used by other nurses as a reference. The software serves a similar purpose but is more efficient. If you were using a book of generic care plans, you would rewrite the generic care plan for your patient which would be time consuming.
With the software, you just select the generic problems for your patient and edit them to your specific patient.
You can download a free demo of the software for mac or pc at the nursesstationsoftware website. Please download and play with it a little. Write a generic nursing problem. Create a patient record. Create a care plan for that patient using your generic nursing problem or other sample problems in the database. Let me know what you think.
no, nursing care plans are not used, unless there is a lot that a patient requires, then i would cover my ass and make one, make everybody follow it too.
Not sure what you mean with " generic problems" . Please explain

a good nursing care plan must be based from your assessment and the needs of the patient. It should be patient centered.
