  • AWESOME AWESOME teaching & lady! -- she is probably one of the only TRUE voices today in Christianitity -- I culd listen to her allll day long.. Folks need to realise that nowhere in Scripture does it say that you have to "accept Christ and ask him to come into your heart" to be saved.

I miss Gene terribly too-- I learned soooo much from him over the years... and

had tons of laughs as well while listening to him!

  • Sorry to argue with you, but, she is correct. Jesus died for us while we were yet sinners.

  • @TheDebtex Never be sorry when you speak the truth. It's called contending for the faith. With all the apostasy today, every voice stating the Truth that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us, once for all, is appreciated.

  • where's her accent from? Anybody know?

  • I agree with the concept of what she's saying and would like to add a question: Where in the Bible does it ever say that anyone prayed to be saved?

I take the Altar Call or Invitation as a time to make a public profession of the faith that has already been given to you.

  • Excellent! this is the righteous and correct teaching, as Paul wrote in Rom.9: 'so it is not of man who wills, nor man who runs, but of God who bestows mercy." mankind come to Christ only as the Father draws them.John.6:37-45 to say man saves himself by an altar call decision is presumption, especially if election is denied and spurned. Melissa is a true prophetess.

  • This question is decidedly off-topic but where on earth (literally) did she get her accent from? It's subtly different from what I perceive a US West coast accent to be.

It's an honest question. I've never heard anything like it and I'd be grateful to know the answer..

  • @gondolacrescent5 I've often thought that as well...but I can assure you it's not from the West Coast (I live here) she sounds much more like my inlaws from the north.

  • @gondolacrescent5 I believe she is originally from the central United states. Could be wrong though.

  • Hmmm, good word. Im not in favor of women pastors, but I agree wholeheartedly with what she said. I'd almost think she was a Calvinist, lol

  • Jesus accepts ALL MEN for salvation. Man either accepts Jesus help or despises it. God has never made man to be a robot with no will or control. So, in actuality and metaphorically, Jesus offers his hand to ALL drowning men, ALL humanity, but some will refuse His hand and others will accept it. There is NO OTHER WAY TO VIEW THE GRACE OF GOD TO ALL MEN. (Some people will jump back into the raging current but once again, Jesus is there with His hand outstretched. Thank God for His mercy!

  • Thank God! However, unregenerated man is not drowning, but already DEAD! We need to get that straight! If not reborn - we are DEAD! We need Jesus to give us life! Praise God for His gift of life!!!!!

  • @BIGGRACE1 You took the works right out of my mouth! Dead men can't even grab the rope much less "accept" Christ. Men are dead in sin and have no desire to grab the rope or be rescued.

  • Hi d.

i agree with you. my same exact understanding about Jesus and Grace (a gift) we Receive it or we reject it.

When you said "Jesus Accepts all men. The word accept fits perfect, because Jesus is in a position of authority, but a dead man or a drowning man is at the other end of the rope :D he is in no position of "Accepting" he is in the position of "Receiving" right?

John 1:12 yet to all whoreceive him...

    Much blessings 2 u

  • Jesus does stand at the door of our Heart and "Knocks". We have to open that door. Yes, the work of the Cross was a complete work for Mankind and the Spirit draws us to Him. We still have to surrender our Will to His Eternal Authority as our King. "Altar Call" is really a silly term when there is really no physical Altar anyway. We are the Temple of Gods' Spirit. Before a person steps forward, he has already been led by the Spirit into a relationship with God. Once again, traditions of men.

  • @Apalachee207 Jesus isn't knocking on our hearts door,it's the churches door that He's knocking on Revelation 3:19.Like a couple of other people have correctly said,We are all dead in the water and it is the Holy Spirit that must quicken us to life so we can come to Jesus, our repentance and belief follows our new birth,as evidence from God that He alone has made us born again.John 6:44 no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him and I will raise him up on the last day.

  • Most evangelicals believe that they accept Jesus. What arrogance ! Right? But i believe this belief is a result of false teaching and plain old ignorance about their true standing before God as wretches without hope and without mercy unless God by His Grace choses to have mercy and save them. They have the notion that they play a significant role in their own salvation. Their power to chose him though He just might not have chosen to have mercy upon them thereby saving them.

  • I only found out about Pastor Gene and Melissa after Gene's death. I was looking for god only knows what on isohunt and up came a 2 gig torrent of gene scott teachings. His teachings are why I got back into church. I think they are both great teachers. Gene taught pre-tribulation rapture, I would like to hear her take on the issue.

  • wow, finally someone who speaks the truth!!!

  • WOW! That's a powerful message. I agree with esadmfd. Thank God for Pastor Scott!

  • She makes some good points... my only concern here is, is she saying everybody is going to heaven? If that's not what she's saying, is she saying God only calls some and the others don't get a chance to "grab the rope?" Those options bother me. Can someone (Pastor Scott?) further explain her perspective on salvation? (I've enjoyed watching her on TV but haven't been watching long.) I look forward to any replies!

  • Everyone has been given the power to choose. Jesus died for everyone. It's up to you to choose to follow Him. So yes everyone has a chance to "grab the rope". Many choose not to. For some the call is not there. Only you know if you're called. God knows all. He knows who will hear His voice and those who will not. It is tough knowing that some will not be called. It's only human to want those you love to follow Christ. The bible says God knew who would hear His call before He formed the earth

  • Hi Ayn.

"Everyone has bee given the power to choose"

Before i met the Lord i was powerless, It was after i "Received" Jesus, that God granted me the power to become son of God. John 1:12

A person trying to "grab the rope" (loved that quote by the way) is in no position of power or authority, correct? So "Not everyone has the power to choose", but, everyone has an option, we receive Jesus or we Reject him and based on this, on judgment day, we will have an advocate or we will stand alone.

  • predestination vs free will. its been an ongoing argument for a loooonnggg time. you can study about it, ive come to the conclusion its both, and its a thing only God can understand, thats why we as humans cant. its to vast. but both are biblical.

  • Yeah I know what your saying. I do believe that we must accept Jesus's death on a personal level to be saved. But I think she was trying to say that before we were born and before we sinned Jesus already made provision for our sins that we could be saved. Rev 13: 8 the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. So since he decide to die for us before we even knew who he was, that shows that he has already excepted us and loves us. He choose us.

  • This is so true! Pastor Scott is one of the rare Christian leaders who is willing to debunk the traditions which make void the Word of God.

  • I have so missed watching Pastor Scott. I switched cable providers and the grid is different from my other one. I am unsure of what time she is on...or is still on.

I have been having some trying times right now and she always seems to calm me. Perhaps it is the fact she has a soothing voice.

    Keep posting these please.

  • @Dayofthedead1976 You can watch online at her website 24/7

  • Good preaching. She's getting better and better.
