  • congrats!

  • amazing catches! well done! those perch are beasts compared to the yellow perch we have in the u.s.!

  • @mikecorbeil Sorry Mike but these aren't yellow perch but European perch which grow considerably larger than the Yellow perch endemic to North America. European Perch are Perca fluviatilis while Yellow Perch are Perca flavescens.

  • nice fish well done!! what music is this??

  • respect for c&r .beautiful perch

  • respect for c&r

  • Beautiful spot and great catches! I would love to fish in places like this ...you're lucky!!

  • you guys are lucky. our perch on ohio get like 1 pound

  • Nice video, Beautiful country. Thanks for sharing your pics.

  • Perch must be one of the easiest fish to catch. We used to catch them when we were trout fishing on the River Lee. Couldn't avoid them. They would go for anything.

  • @munsterfloyd partly agree with you, but when you try to catch a specimen- it is not that easy

  • Redfin

  • It's important to note that the perch being caught in Ireland are a close relative of those in the States and Canada, but still a different species. This is why they exhibit a larger size and different coloration.

  • Wish i could fish those lovely sites some nice fish

  • some big YPs goin on here!

  • Wow! The perch there are big! The perch in Indiana are around 3-4 inches long at most. Great video. Keep them coming!

  • amazing quality to these pictures, especially in fullscreen mode.

    Nice music by the way!

  • @spacecowboy7580 congrats on the new pb man- 5lber is a lump of perch-my biggest there was about 4lb- 48cms long

  • @DavidTsurkhai

Thanks..I think there may be more around that size in the quarry pit I caught it..I'll be trying over the winter to catch them!

  • Perch always seem to go for red maggot, no idea why.

  • The european strain of perch seem to be much larger. There are other videos. look at : Sposób na okonia: spinning , Grosse perche / Big perch : Divinator Shad Biwaa

  • Looks like a good place to catch perch on an " Irish Jig " ..or maybe one of those new " LineDancers " :-)

  • what place is that? pelase tell

  • Do you guys ever fish for the species that eat the perch?

  • cool vid, nice shots and beautiful perch.loving the c&r. well done lads.

  • While living and fishing in Framingham, Massachusetts, USA, a very urban area, in the early 1970s, friends and I regularly went fishing. One time, a friend reels in a 16in yellow perch, to the amazement of all of us. We were all and very surprised, for the largest YP any of us had caught over years of fishing that area was possibly 12in, if that long. So 16in was big for us. But I've been in Quebec, Canada for many years and YP aren't known large here, either.

    Must be special in Ireland.

  • @mikecorbeil They don't grow that big here in Ireland like on the contitent. My irish pb was little over 19in, but fish range 15in are most common. For a biggish ones you need a search in Nederlands and Scandinavia maybe.

  • @mikecorbeil thats weird howcome ur perches organ is soooo bright??!??!

  • "Man", some excellently nice yellow perch, are these! If a person goes out fishing in Quebec, Canada, and I found the same to be very true in Massachusetts, USA, then count yourself LUCKY if you catch any 12in long ; a 10in will be considered very acceptable for size for taking home for dinner. There's been much OVERFISHING and a good amount of it is from damn poaching, which is damn selfishness, taking everything of the best and leaving little to nothing for other fishermen. Due to PIGS!

  • @mikecorbeil My river is well protected and is catch and relase policy in operation here. Waterkeepers are always just around the corner...Big Brother rulezzz :)

  • @DavidTsurkhai Big Brother rulezzz and needs to do something constructive, instead. But we still need to protect the environment. Overfishing must be stopped, dead in its tracks. But people should otherwise be able to go out, catch a fish or two, take it or them back home, and cook it up for dine-dine.

Yellow perch should be sufficiently abundant where I'm residing, but there was quite extreme poaching of them for years. Similarly, brook fishing used to be great, except poaching ...

  • @mikecorbeil these are european perch they get bigger then yellows,we don't have yellow perch in ireland.but they are still big perch even for europeans.

  • cheers thank you
