Heath's performance as the joker was chillin somehow. He brought a certain life to it, and it was a amazing thing to watch. When I first watched it, I had a strange feeling in me. It was disturbing, and yet he made the jokers sick philosophy almost reasonable. it was awkward - but great. He deserved this definitely.

I know each had a lot of great qualities about them. However and this is just me but I was so so moved by the movie benjmin button. Plus the colors which I think would be cinamatography were brilliant like when they showed the old war scenes and him experiencing life. All taking place in a womans recollection of her last moments of like in a hospital in new orleans right before the water hits.

Very sad, but also uplifting in the final message.

Heath is and was a great actor, and will always be remembered for his brilliance to his lifelong fans. Oh, and to all the people who are about to reply with something nasty, the other canidates and winners deserved every penny. They worked just as hard. I guess I just have a soft spot for Heath and his circumstance. He will live on in the heart's who enjoy watching his witty humor and charm on screen.

Chill, guys. Heath Ledger was a good actor, Can't argue about that. Often the Oscar does not go to the best, but whose performance the Academy likes. If No Country for Old Men or There Will Be Blood ran this year they'd probably go home empty-handed. Nobody wants to watch dark movies in these times. We don't know if Heath would have won if he lived, but he sure as hell deserved that nomination. By the way, shouldn't we acknowledge the other winners too?

Heath Ledger really deserved the award...he was amazing as the Joker and was amazing in many past roles as well! What is up with some of these nasty comments about him? He did not commit suicide but died of an accidental drug overdose...and, regardless, he was still an amazing actor and man! Also, I am so happy that Slumdog won so many awards...what a great, inspiring film! I am also very happy for Kate Winslet who really deserved the award!
