  • The man couldn't face his alcoholism. He used the guitar as his shield of denial. I love the man's music, however, and I really like the post.

  • @jwalsh671 Why face it? Really.

  • @jwalsh671 Maybe it was the alcoholism he could handle, other things less so

  • fuckin hell he's completely drunk !!!

  • I like that his style was coined "American Primitive" but don't you have to pretty musically sophisticated to play this primitively?

  • Nice! Yes, this is a Charlie Patton song, "Some These Days".

  • He incorporates this melody into 'old southern medley' on the transfiguration album. Nice tune, and it's nice to actually hear the words, which is more than can be said for the Patton recording- at least the one i've heard...

  • I'm glad he kept his day job as a guitar player, but it's not as bad what I was expecting.

  • this is like a dream i'm having where John Fahey is singing...like the cat talking...

  • what the fuck are you on!?

  • Who is singing?

  • John Fahey. There are some other early fonotone songs with fahey singing which are horrible. I like this one a lot though...

  • As bad a singer as he is....for some reason I like this too. Even though he's obviously drunk.

  • Sometimes a bad vocal is just the perfect thing. Mostly not though..

  • yes, really wonderful!

  • Great song.
