  • Thank you for this video! It was very helpful and now Iris folding doesn't look as scary as I thought it would be!

  • Thanks

  • my art teacher made this

  • Are you from Canada??

  • Thank you for this informative video!!! Just made an adorable sea turtle....along with tons of others from patterns I've found online from the Stamping Details website (a quaint store located in Poway, CA)

  • @starfritishines It is a fun craft! Thanks for watching!

  • Thanks

  • couldnt resist this piece of art !! i subbed

  • @Soldier1HitMan Thanks!

  • hi the website is not here

  • @igbobeauty I have made some new notations in the description box. :)

  • it looks really good but i have a question....

it seems a bit of a laboured thing to fold all those peices of paper in half, is there a reason to do this? or could you just use strips of paper as they are (unfolded?)

  • @twistmenot The folded edge just looks nicer in the finished product. It gives more of a dimensional look, but you could just place the unfolded pieces down as long as the edges are straight and nicely cut.

  • @yoyomax12 thank you

i made both ways... keeping it unfolded only works if you use double sided paper

  • @przeczzkamilem Thanks!

  • I made this for my friend's baby shower. She loved it <3

  • @97Scarygirl Thanks for letting me know you tried this craft!

  • I LOVE your card! Thanks for the tutorial!!

I bought a book for iris folding Christmas cards, but they only give 3 patterns in the back, and they aren't numbered. If I have a pattern, and it's not numbered or sectioned off to know which color/pattern paper to use where (1A, 1B etc), how do I know what to do? Also, I've seen different suggestions for the width of the paper strips. How do you know what size to use for a particular pattern if it's not listed?

    Thanks,

    Michele

  • @Luvkitty33 All the patterns I used were nicely numbered and the colours were listed. Is there a photograph you can follow?

The size of the strips will depend on you really and the size of the pattern, it will take some trial and error I think.

  • this is beautiful and i will try to do it myself:)

  • @Shelron007 thanks!

  • wowwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • @payish Thanks!

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks for a great video and taking the time to do it.

  • You are very welcome! thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment.

  • Thanks, it is a fun craft to do.

  • whats the site link?

  • It looks like the site is down for maintenance until mid November, I suggest you try again later. Thanks for letting me know.

  • nice demo, I can't find the site though, will you please give the link?

  • I tried locating the link and it appears to have been removed. If you google "free iris folding patterns" you will find patterns.

  • A really nice demo. Clear and concise. Well done.

  • Thanks for your kind words!

  • Beautiful demonstration and a beautiful card too. I enjoyed the joke at the end too! Thanks so much!

  • Thanks so much, sorry for the delayed response on the comment. :)

    Gigi

  • Hello Gigi! Sorry I missed this comment.

You did a very nice job on the heart you made for Beth. Take care.

  • I am sometimes intimated, but I was glad that I tried this. I really to like working with paper :)

    Gigi

  • I love it! The Craftylicious One never disappoints me. :)

  • I must get "Craftylicious One" put on a t-shirt!

  • You're so cool Tammy. You do the best crafts. I suck at crafts.

    Couldn't concentrate...lol! take care - jenn

  • Thanks much Gail!

I am constantly finding new crafts...now if I can just try to retire early....

  • Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Thanks, I am a crafts junkie, always looking for a new kind of "fix" lol.

  • Thanks Annie. Don't need much patience for this one, very easy to do.

  • That is really cool Tammy! Great joke Max! Thanks, Grams

  • Thanks Grams!!

  • I don't generally like crafting but I love this and will be sure to try it..thanks Tammy

  • I am a craft-o-holic. I'm always trying new ones. I especially like papercrafts. Thanks Dolores.

  • I love love crafts and I am going to do this one! Love it! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. I've never heard of it. Awesome!

  • Never heard of it before doing this video! So many crafts, so little time.

  • You know .. I always found books but the shapes on the cover always scared me so I really never bothered about this particular paper craft

But the final results in your video are great

So I'm going to have to try it sometime soon

I loved the purple lilac shoe

    Thanks Tammy :)

It must have taken you so much time ..

  • The longest part of the craft is cutting out the paper strips. The actual construction is quick. I have found a basket made with Iris folding and I may add some quilled flowers to it!

  • Okay, okay...where's the stuff to EAT???!!

;) I confess I skipped all the way through this looking for frosting, chocolate....

    something...

  • Stuff to eat? LMAO!

I have a baking video in the works, to be released soon. :)

  • You always come up with the neatest crafts, thanks for sharing Tammy:)

  • I just stumbled upon this one and had to show it! Thanks Daryl and your brother Daryl if he is watching ;)

  • This is probably the best craft EVER! And it looks like you have your Valentine's Day cards going :) I would suggest that you add in your tags: card cardmaking valentine valentine's day craft

Yep. That way more people can come here and enjoy it. So beautiful. I am going to do this one for sure.

  • Thank you Beth!

I appreciate the suggestions for the tags, I've added them in.

Valentines day card mailing deadline is coming up quickly here, I'll have to get cracking on those cards. lol.

  • Ok, why dont you just quit your day job and open a craft shop or something. You are so prolific. I am amazed. These are beautiful.

I thought maybe they lost their jobs cause it was the PITS. :)

  • You come up with the greatest follow up jokes to the jokes of the day! lol!!!

If I thought I could make money at a crafts shop I would, but I've never had an interest in running a business.

  • Tammy! That is awesome!! You are so talented..:)

    Great joke Max!!

    Have a great day!!

  • You do the most awesome crafts! I love this one!! Ok, now you got me with that boot.. You know i collect shoes and now I am going to have to find that pattern and make one of those! LOL Thanks for showing this craft!!

    Loved the joke too, Max!!!

  • That is really cool! I will have to try that! Thanks, Tammy!!!!

  • that is so neat.

  • i love the idea of framing it, that would make a great gift!

  • Ok now that is really cool. I think I may even be able to do this one:) You are the crafe Queen...You are an you should have your own show..Oh yea!

    Very cool Max :)

  • Tammy that looks so much like foundation paper piecing in quilt making. Instead of paper you use fabric and you sew each piece down to the design on the paper. Very neat. Hugs!

  • I love this craft, especially the boot. Thanks for posting.

  • You are a sweetheart Eva. Thanks

  • Thanks for showing this, wow you never let us down with new things. I love that boot one so much. Granny boots are one of my favorites! Max, loved that joke sweetie! HUGS xoxo STAY WARM there folks!

  • Staying warm has been a challenge for us, it has been brutally cold here lately.

    Thanks Peggy.

  • The pattern is on the website in the description box. It is a very easy craft. The hardest part is deciding what colours to use.

  • Is there anything you can't do? Really, another cute project I will have to try! I'm going to be busy for hours with all these neat projects!

  • I'm not very good at budgeting money, my husband does that! lol.

I love trying new crafts, there are just too many out there and not enough time!

  • Go for it Barb! I love trying new crafts. There aren't too many crafts I don't like.

  • Awesome Tammy!

    That looks like fun!

    thanks for sharing !

    mike

  • You are awesome Mike, thanks for the comment.

  • Thanks Charlene.

  • I had never heard of this art form before. Very lovely stuff. I am with Eden...the boot is gorgeous.

  • I just stumbled upon this craft, never heard of this either before today. So many crafts...so little time!

  • I think I would make a great gift. You could pick colours to match the person's kitchen, bathroom etc..

  • thats neat... i totally could not do it though lol

  • Sure you could Tyler, it's just folded paper glued with sticky tape on a pattern, that's it!

  • I do have my own show...lol, it's called the Yoyomax12 channel. :)

    Thanks Irene.

Anyone can do this one, it is very simple. There are many free patterns out there to be downloaded on the net.

  • very pretty. i love the boot!

    xoexo

  • Thanks Eden, the boot turned out well.

  • Quilting is something I have never done! I can see how you could easily use fabric instead of paper though and thread instead of tape! Interesting.

  • You are just a crafty woman. A jack of all trades! There are thing I have never seen in my life, and this is one of them.. This is very cool!

  • I love new crafts. Whenever I find one I want to try it out. So many things to do!

Would that be a "Jill of all trades"?

    lol.

  • Okay okay.. ha.. a Jill of all trades. =P
