Try melting your butter in a hot pan, then place one slice in there to get the melted butter on it, then take it out and set aside. Put the other slice in the remaining melted butter, add your cheese on top, take the slice you set aside and slap it on top (buttered side up, of course!). Turn over once the down side is browned up, and then all the cheese inside should be melted good once the second side browns up. Don't let the sandwich lay flat while cooling or the bottom will get soggy.

That's awesome! A little trick for not burning the grilled cheese? Butter the bread, sprinkle a coating of parmesan cheese on it, you got an inside out grill cheese. It's killer!

Other cheeses work well too. Almost impossible to burn.
