There are white african Berbers, and there are black african berbers, all berbers are related to each other in some way. Its like "hispanic" or "Latino" Zoe Saldana is a black hispanic woman, and Cameron Diaz is a white hispanic woman. Wyclef is a black latino (haiti) Christina Aguilera is a white Latino. So you'll find berbers like most tuaregs who are "black" and berbers who are white.

Haitians know that technically they are Latino as well but when Latino is used in the USA it is used as a linguistocultural reference to Spanish speaking nations.

I think most cultures in africa view a fuller figured woman as the most beautiful. My family is Kenyan and it's the same there though they don't take it to this extreme. There are of course horrible risks that go along with being such a large size but getting people to part ways with such an old tradition will be difficult
