  • Killer stuff, keep them coming...

  • This riff sounds very similar to All night long, from Blackmore's Rainbow.

  • wrabit79 youare a stupid fuckin idiot you dont know shit about the real world blow a goat

  • Saw them in Colchester around 1981 with the previous singer. Loudest band I ever saw and bloody good too!!

  • I just started listening to these guys and there BADASS!!!!

  • saw these live back in the 80s great live band, they still sound good

  • Rock radio in the US totally sucks. I'm glad I ventured out to find bands like the Tygers and the like back in the early 80s.

  • while america was listening to blondie, the cars, the police, oingo boingo ugh......britain was rocking.....just like today...europe and south america are rocking and the u s a...ugh again...playing stupid music

  • live at nottingham rock city is the only tygers album you'll ever need

  • sykes....totally fucking amazing!

most likley, the best rock guitarist from the uk....period!

  • Tygers are now managed by Rocksector Records in Manchester, England.

These guys are superb and will take them places - mark my words!

  • motley crue live in mansions now .....and these blokes ... are probably janitors i coulda been a contender !!! ,....why ,...i oughta ! PS:{jon devrill 4 lizzy frontman}

  • Comment removed

  • these guys inspired was a major influence to Metallica!

  • Tygers of Pan Tang are sooooo underrated, They have been forgotten over time and need some more love

  • they come to belgium 8th october

    first show in 30years

  • It's a tragedy that Jon Deverill never got the recognition and success his talent deserved. What a singer, what a frontman!

  • This is SMOLDERING hot !!

  • theyre playing Selby's Riverside Bar, England on 14th July =D . £5 entry too! my band are supporting. BONUS!. should make for a killer show.

    Love tygers ;D

  • crazy nights was a great album..ill have to dig it out again and give it a listen..

  • Did John Sykes write any of the Tygers of Pang Tang's songs?

  • @JamesParkour731

Yes, quite a few. His fingerprints are all over the Spellbound album.

  • @Tessmage Thanks do the albums specify who wrote which song or was it a group collaboration?

  • sykes rules. he was playing super fast way back then, one of my fave guitar players

  • OH Yeah,Rock and Roll original, very best, for ever this guys,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • I'm just now discovering these guys and they rock! What are the essential album(s)?

  • @vagabond197979 I'd say Spellbound, Wild Cat, Crazy Nights, and The Cage - in that order (personal opnion)

  • @splat66 And I'd say you were spot on mate!

  • @vagabond197979 Really only the two albums with John Sykes - 'Spellbound' and 'Crazy Nights'. The debut album, 'Wildcat', had a different singer who is nowhere near as good as Jon Deverill who is singing here. After Sykes left they made 'The Cage' which is way more commercial than the first 3 albums. Get 'Spellbound' and 'Crazy Nights' for sure!

  • I feel left out looking at all the comments about people wanting to be back in the 80's. Atleast you guys got to experience it once. I'm fifteen and got screwed, instead of metal and rock, I got pop and Rap. Fuck that.

  • @ih8makinusernames yeah dude,,i''m 36 right now and i would hate to be 15 now, there's almost nothing around that kicks ass the way that stuff like this did in the 80's.

  • @david10006 White Wizzard, Cauldron, Enforcer, Ram, Portrait, In Solitude, Icarus Witch, Holy Grail, Skull Fist, Midnight Malice, Diemonds, Witchcurse, Baphomet's Blood...

  • Crazy Nights is by far the best album ever from Tygers!

  • Now THIS is the good shit !!!!!

    My favourite lineup !!

Chris Tsangerides was a stellar producer................

  • I wanna back in 1980-ies!!!

  • Jon Deverill has class!

  • AAH, memories! Sunday nights at the Lyceum in the Strand... 3 bands every night, i was deaf for 3 days every week. Saw the original line ups of Tygers of Pan Tang, Iron Maiden, Saxon, Def Leppard, Angel Witch, Diamond Head, Samson, April Wine ... and the ones i can't remember. Loudest gig i ever saw was Angel Witch at the Marquee, at the front, Marshalls straight in both ears. Good times but seems dated now.. However, I've been in a band ever since, not metal tho...... KEEP IT LIVE FOLKS :)

  • I just can't get into the singer's voice... I love this band because of John Sykes though, he's my favorite living guitarist!

  • God I worked as a roady for these done some gigs in London in. The 80s think psycho went on to whitesnake .

  • Saw them in Sweden 81, was 10 then, nice upload.

  • Nice chorus, but horrible song writing, it doesn't fit together very well.

  • Thanks!

  • sounds like "man on the Silver Mountain" by Rainbow riff...

  • Bueno!!!

  • Metal Cross will be supporting Tygers on Pan Tang at Canning Town/London on the 28th of August 2010. If you supportup acoming heavy metal please check us /the gig out

  • A classic tune. Great, thanx a lot, I luve it. Cheers Sven

  • Thanks firts you that uploaded it, and then for the one who invented this community..wich makes possible masterpieces like this become acessible for more crownds around the world!!!! \m/ !!

  • Cool vid-this one and the other you've posted certainly scream early 80s NWOBHM with the stage outfits.

  • John Sykes is a ridiculously awesome guitarist.

  • Fucking Awesome!!!

  • The vocals sound very close to Matthew

Sweet the singer for the christian rock

    band Stryper.

  • @MrSmokeydog You mean Mike Sweet?

  • @MrSmokeydog Sorry I never bought any of their music but I know there was

two brothers in Stryper. with the last name of Sweet. I thought the lead singers

name was Matthew but maybe it was Michael. Great voice definitely.

  • really great to see this footage. cheers!

  • can i get this show on DVD?

  • Used to love this band.

  • Anyone looking for this or other cds, movies, video games call 716-804-6478.Leave name and #

  • one of the greatest band in the world..

  • one of the greatest bands in the world...

  • great sound!

  • OMG, the vocalist looks like Chuck Schuldiner of Death (RIP). Good band anyways.

  • Holy crap! NWOBHM Schuldiner! haha.

  • How come these guys never made it big?

  • I loved Crazy Nights production actually!

  • This is great! This takes me back to a time when heavy metal and hard rock bands fed off the energy of the crowd and had stage presence.

These days, everyone wants to look like a type cast for Hannah Montanna with their emo flap over their eyes and sing like Beavis.

Old school rock will always stand the test of time!

  • This kills the album version. Who ever did the production of Crazy nights should be shot.

  • Yeah, I always hated the production on Crazy Nights too.

  • Completely agree!

  • @Celtic450 Agreed

  • Agreed

  • still as good now as it was at the time.. great memories

  • I saw this band live at the Civic hall St Albans UK in 1981 when I was 21, fucking great night I can still remember it so well

  • Lucky!

  • hail the good heavy metal hell! i got my kult embroidery patch at the true METAL PARADISE mailorder: myspace(dot)com/dap666

full of NWOBHM, black deathrash...old school 70s, 80s...

  • Fuck me for one min you could say this is the singer from the Answer...Thats if you know who they are...One cool mother fuckin rock band from the uk ...If i do say so me sen...;)))

  • WOW>> The guitars are loud...amazing..

  • TYGERS OF PAN TANG STILL FUCKING ROCK !

  • jez cox is a fukingod.............

  • lol,jez cox wasnt in the band in this video, its john deverill

  • omg wow that is a great band, too bad they didnt carry on or get main stream success, but then again we wouldn't have had the best rock album of the era with whitesnake and john sykes showin all guitarists how its done. its one thing to put music to a song, its a complete other thing to bring that song to life and make it breath and talk. i wonder what megadeth would have sounded like with sykes... lol

  • saxon, holocaust, raven, satan,

  • John Sykes is a amazing guitarist no matter which ever band he plays.........Fucking Rock Nd Roll

  • sounds like fool for your loving

  • great stuff

  • Muy bueno. Una de las mejores bandas de la NWOBHM.

Lastima que no puedo encontrar este recital entero por ningun lado.

    Great Band.

  • Most people say Crazy Nights, but for me the better album is Spellbound.

  • Who the hell thinks Crazy Nights is better than Spellbound? I mean Crazy Nights is good, but Spellbound is a metal masterpiece.

  • I think Spellbound is the better album, but Crazy Nights production is not nearly as good.

Crazy Nights is a better overall album, but Spellbound has a couple songs that crush (gangland obviously) and better production.

  • @ splat66 sono daccordo con te!!!!

  • @splat66 Spellbound! Hands down ! I took that for granted. Their Classic album!!Crazy Nights suffered from stagnation, To me that's why they went the popier root.I loved the nexy l.p.

  • @splat66 Good call. By a long way their best album. Every song is great.

  • which tygers of pan tang album is better?

    crazy nights.

    spellbond.

  • 'Spellbound' rules ALL! 'Crazy Nights' is very good in places but the production sucks. 'Wild Cat' suffers from Jess Cox' poor vocals and a lack of Sykes.

  • could not agree with you more. Especially the drum sound on Crazy Nights - pathetic!. Had Crazy Nights had the production Spellbound did, it might have been more successful,

  • de la putamare una de las mejores bandas rokeras ke gran musika la de antes

  • Great song, from a great band, long live the TYGERS!!

  • NWOBHM ROCKS

  • this band started the heavy metal era!!

  • Black Sabbath man.....

  • Good rythm and guitar solos...

  • great riffs, grreat band, great music...any other bands of this style?

  • diamond head...kinda

  • Angel Witch is kind of similar.

  • Tokyo Blade, Avenger, Raven maybe, try searching N.W.O.B.H.M .bands( new wave of british heavy metal), british heavy metal bands with a rockish attitude from the late 70's to early 80's.

  • Jon Deverill & John Sykes = best vocal/guitar combo of the entire NWOBHM.

'Spellbound' is a gem and 'Crazy Nights' is great, too.

  • I'm not big fun of John, but this may be one of the best works of him.

    So nice tune.

  • so much better than today's dumbed down, lame SHIT that passes for "music"..

  • nice mustache, sykes!!

  • oh! it's not him!!!

    kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • those guys could play. forget that crap of today's music business.

  • Is this really loud or what? Listen to those mics distort. Rock on!

  • Those were they days. What a great band...

  • great song! they're quite underrated when compared to other nwobhm acts!

  • no-the drummer is great-I am a drummer and I am extremly critical of other drummers. This guy is great and very good for this band, does'nt do anything unnecessary or stupid idiot fills or anything.I actually miss this band.I hope they come back out soon. The singer reminds me of Tommy Carmody in my brother's old band in Croydon,Pa.

  • John Deverill is Great Singer!

  • tiger cubs

  • whatta hell is wrong with the drummer? he keeps steady beat, no fucking around and the hi-hat fills are definitely in right place.

  • The drummers not that bad. I mean don't get me wrong it's very simple and straightforward, but the song calls for that.

  • haha robert plant much?

  • se parece a NO BONE MOVIEs de OZZY o no? jajajaja el Riff

  • crazy nights was a great disc...got it when it came out and still play it!

  • such a shitty drummer for an amazing band

  • the best line up of tygers!!!

  • Rob Weir should never have tried to play lead guitar, wonder what the hell he was thinking when they recorded hellbound and he traded solos with sykes. Its a mystery why he even tried it tbh, poor sod.

  • God! Not heard this probably since 81! I had Crazy Nights on Record. Of all the bands of this era I have seen, I have never seen them? Have heard many comments from people who have say their later stuff is poor? Latest album gets great review in Classic Rock mag though. Great track! Keep Rockin'

  • Yeah, most of their later stuff wasn't as good. My personal fave was Spellbound. I never got to see them live either. There's a rumor that John Sykes may join them onstage at the Hard Rock Hell show on December 6th. Not sure how true that is though, he's badmouthed his experience in the Tygers in the press over the years. I saw that review in Classic Rock too, and I agree that the new album is very good.

    Cheers!

    Patrick

  • saw them on the spellbound tour around 1981..i always say that along with saxon they were the forerunners of nwbhm..they played along on the same bill as magnum and were awesome

  • not bad , anyone know bands that are similar to iron maiden?

  • BloodBound there 1st album and latest Gamma Ray cd. Both excellent cds!

  • sure the gream reaper..

  • Best Maiden-style band is Machine Men from Finland, especially on their first EP and debut album. Wolf from Sweden are also quite cool.

  • Iron Maiden, like Metallica, blueprint their music based on Thin Lizzy.

  • amazing...fuck i hate my generation and my previous one...they know shit bout metal and rock n roll and the music suks...i wisht theres other 16 or younger ppl that like this...we hav to heavy metal! not the shit thats playin today in fuking bars and shit...wat a pitty...

  • Too bad you missed it. It was a great time. At least you have the good sense to appreciate it. Cheers!

  • Man -this is whgat i am talkin bout!

Old school rock with edge and solo...

Who does it like this anymore?

  • mustakostaja...In the way of metal, I was around and full grown in 1981- I see to remember judas priest, Iron Maden, Motorhead, and some others. Uh...metal or not?

  • great song! does anyone know which album this is on? I can't find this song anywhere.

  • "Love Don't Stay" is from the Crazy Nights album released in '81 on Neat/MCA. Hope I could help.

  • Thanks!

  • I, wonderful, rock n roll never die!

  • Sorry to say but whether you liked them or not, Tygers were definitely part of the NWOBHM. Maybe you had to be there....

  • You say no, but the rest of the world thinks otherwise

  • you are a fking fool sir.

  • i agree that it's not relly heavy, but you gotta keep in mind that in the early eighties there was no Metallica, no Slayer, no fucking Cannibal Corpse. At the time, bands like Tygers of Pan Tang and Iron Maiden were the cutting edge of heavy metal.

Check out the album 'Spellbound' by this band if you want some classic heavy metal/hard rock.

  • OKAY, This is definitely heavy. By who's standards? Metallica is no heavier than this, they're just faster really. Thrash is just this, sped up. maybe with a little more attitude, and vocally it's more shouty than melodic. Anyone disagree?

  • I think I responded to the wrong guy, but you're free to answer if you want!

Spellbound is a good album, I've been looking everywhere for crazy nights and the cage though.

  • I'm sorry to say that you have no idea what you are talking about. You obviously know very little about the birth and growth of metal through the ages.

  • ....but yah sure they are still good and this song is still rad

  • Maybe. I guarantee you, if this was a new band from Oakland, Ca. New York, Melbourne (etc. you get the picture) they would be hailed as the hottest, newest, shit.

  • The riff from fool for your loving(Whitsnake)is here!!!if you hear the album you'll discover a lot "before Whitsnake" riffs!

John Sykes took them(the riffs)with him when he left the band. Then he joined Whitsnake!!!

  • You are probably correct about a lot of the riffs going to Whitesnake, but the original version of 'Fool For Your Loving' was on the 1980 album Ready An' Willing - written by David Coverdale, Bernie Marsden & Micky Moody.

  • You're right my friend.I'm starting to forget!...too old to rock'n'roll(37!).

  • But he joined Thin Lizzy before Whitesnake!! He played on and toured for'Thunder & Lightning' (1983).

  • I agree mactown69, as the only two topt lps to have are the ones with JS and JD.

  • If only Deverill and Sykes had put something together who knows how good it might have been? They were wasted on this lot. There's rarely been such as chasm in talent in the same band.

  • the riff in the beggining sound a lot like the riff from fool for your loving

  • this song is AWESOME! check out my cover of "do it good" by The Tygers Of Pan Tang

  • JON DEVERILL!!!! THE BEST!!!!!!

  • You can tell that Sykes is only playing at about %5 of his potential, in order not to make the other guy look like a complete hack.

  • ah the vocal's little dance is cuute

  • HELL YEAH. \m/

  • Hi Guys, Good news their rocking again. Saw them at a local gig at Crook F. C. up here in the rocking North East of England.

They were fantastic. They they were promoting a disc containing just five tracks. The Album is titled Back & Beyond Track 1. Live For the day. 2. Hell Bound 3. Rock and roll man 4. take it and 5. Bury the Hatchet.

Not sure but I think theres only one original member left. Can only make out band sigs on the cover Craig Ellis, Jack,Brian,Dean

Hope you can get to see them.

  • Tight black trousers, John Sykes, big hair... what's not to love!?

I was fifteen when i first saw these guys, and have been in love with them ever since...

    Rock On!!!

  • i think he was in street fighter a blackpool band and the news paper read a new lion up for tigers that was 1981 aprox rock on babe

  • Yes this was real music back in the day, not like the pathetic shit we have now as so called music.

  • this song is fucking amazing, to bad i was born after all the great bands were gone or started to suck

  • fuk, the riff is awesome

  • This is a fuckin killer song!!!

  • I went to see them on tour in the early 80s and was very disappointed as Sykes had left the band a few week before and was replaced by another guitarist who was far from being as good.

The band had two good albums and a few good songs.

  • It is wonderful

  • Its an orgasm for the ears lol

  • Man these guys are so original

  • It is wonderful

  • Its an orgasm for the ears lol

  • It is wonderful

  • These guys sound like a mixture of UFO/Y&T and Xciter. Still pretty good though.

  • Man these guys are so original
