odd question, but is the diesel named 'the pride of shrewsbury'? i havent run mine for some time now, think i may have to dust it off and get it running again
@jamesmooreism - check that your track is jointed properly, make sure that the rails are in both fishplates properly. Failing that, maybe you're just running them too fast - they're trains, not slot cars.
wat am you using to stand the base bourd up with thx mate nice vide thow because im hving probems with mine but i hve the base but i cnt find where to put it and i dont want it in the loft or on the floor plz help
how do you run a train on your track without the other trains moving aswell ony i want `to make a big setout with mine i have only got one train running on the track and i want to add more on it with some more track....... email me PLZ PLZ PLZ
nice layout!! i notice you have quite a few right & left hand points! have you had any problems with derailments? i've had to replace one point, & im having the same problem again seems ok one way but if i dont switch back the trains derail! do you know if its normal to lose conduct on the inner track when the points are switched over? ime almost ready to invest in track D thanks for the ideas ime inspired! id appresiate any help with my Q's from anyone thanks!
yeah i find i get derailments at higher speeds with the points, especially with the mail carraige but at lower speeds it shouldn't be to much of a problem. to achieve conductivity on your inner track you can buy a set of joined power clips to transfer power between tracks, that shouls sort out your inner track problems.
thanks for answering! your input on my circuit current when i switch over points and lose power was much appreciated. even when i switch back the points i have to put the loco back on the main track manualy! i'll replace those areas with peco tracks & points thanks!
thanks again! its been a while since i had my set up & running i'm e still getting the spare room cleared & waiting to get rewiring done then i'll be up & running with all my collected stations, track circuits & carrages! can't wait to get my camra out & upload a new vid!!
does anyone know if you can get computer programmes to control the speed so a train can start, stop, accelerate etc. without even having to control it
i had one that sort of size but dis manteled it and made it bigger because i thought i did not have much potential and on mine it always seemed to be on a curve the train
those are the exact dimensions of my board but i woulr recommend getting another 6 inches width and length because it's a squeese to get third radius ovals on.
hi ni noticed how the long carrages made it over those points if mine could do that it would be a miracle! are they hornby or peco? if you do'nt mind me asking!
lookin shmart for the video.

this video proves that you dont need to be a proffesional and have a massive layout of hornby to have fun,
hornby was made for the bedroom and there it should stay

@mongoosekid14 - Google "insulating fishplates". Also, the turnouts he's using are probably power-routing.
Are you aware of DCC (digital command control) yet?

@JBofBrisbane yh i know now that was like a year ago and now im using dcc and i have my layout up and running with scenary and stuff.

Purchase PECO points,
far superior to HORNBY points,
since i replace my HORNBY with PECO i haven't had any de-railments at all

nice is that 47 from the night mail set? because i noticed a TPO in the siding.
NG02shunter 3 years ago
yeah it is but i find that the TPO derails easily when passing points so i tend not to run it.

Is that layout based on a trakmat?

No it's not.
Just years of slowly building on the starter oval and moving things around to allow for the best utilization of the space.
