  • This is easily the most enjoyable version that I've heard. It may not have the soul of simone or any of the other classic standards, but it's delivered with more passion and performance than nearly any other version I've seen. Bravo!

  • Sweet holy god, this is the best I've ever heard it.

  • I've been through almost all the Pirate Jenny's on You Tube (all night now) and have to say this is definately tops - marvelous voice with stunning personality!

  • This is definitely the only rendition of this song that combines the rhythm, the percussive piano, the character, the volume, the clarity and unrequited longing, and just...overall beautiful grit that this piece deserves. Huge kudos. Huge.

  • @theduhdoodstm Thanks!

  • Grande momento!

  • This is the best I've seen so far! There's a lot of great singers just singing it, but you act it and sing it very well, it's amazing! I'm auditioning with this for my theatre school's season, and I'm basing it off of your version. Thanks!

  • @JanaG WOW, Thanks! What school do you go to?

  • It's a small fine/liberal arts school called Sir Wilfred Grenfell College in Newfoundland, Canada.

  • Awesome stuff!

  • brilliant version ! looked at versions from lots of famous singers and none of them seemed to realise what the lyrics are about. Here Polly really comes alive !

  • the piano is too dominant

  • One of my favorite renditions of Pirate Jenny.

  • yeah, that's great!!

  • Oh, wow. That was amazing. I'm going to a performance of The Threepenny Opera in a few months, and if their interpretation is half as good as yours, I'll be pleased. I'm glad you have it up in character, too, because most of the versions on YouTube are of people just singing the song, and making the song really boring and lifeless, compared to yours which made me feel like the music had a life of its own. Bravo!

  • Thank You so much! It was a lot of fun to perform.

  • Ooh she's good! And hot sexy funny. And all that. Amen sister, sing it!

  • hey thanks!

  • Wwoo y0-u do look liek Drew barrymroe--i lvoe Drew lol Why are you dressed like this LOL--Im not complaining....but I didnt see anyone else performing tihs song dressed HOT lol

  • Three Penny Opera is known to switch songs between Jenny Diver, Polly, and Lucy. Normally, or in most modern traditions the song has been sung by Polly who is an innocent, but in this case Jenny sings it and she might dress like this.

  • Great great job! I really enjoyed your singing-intense but unpretentious. I checked out Ute Lemper -ugh! and all the others on YouTube. The song is hard to sing because it's mostly spoken, you kept the pace and made it unified.

  • you look a little rough to be polly lol!

    but nice voice

  • In this version the song is sung by Jenny, not Polly. Jenny IS a little rough, but thanks.

  • oh right cool, which version is it?

  • * In the original version, "Pirate Jenny" is sung by Polly during the wedding scene, but is sometimes moved to the Second Act and given to Jenny.

  • Great interpretation! You got it!

  • There's not much that I could add that Versailles1798 didn't already say, so I won't.

  • Fun version, and indeed you look a bit like Drew Barrymore.

  • very good

  • You were outstanding in that show-

  • Great performance!

I've seen many recordings of this, in both English and German, and this one definitely stands out. You really got into character.

  • I think you look a little like Drew Barrymore!

    ( I like your hair)

  • i thought the same but 50% alecia silverstone. lol not trying to be a schmuck, that's wut i thought!

  • Absolutely beautiful performance! Thank you!

  • Ah! So great! :) We have right now the three penny opera (in finnish) and I'm in the role of Jenny, too.

  • Did anyone ever tell you you look a bit like Peaches Geldof? :)

  • No..........Thank You, Ill take that as a compliment.

  • I like the gloves, what made you want to wear them?

  • When I put them on the costume felt complete, so I justified it as having on fancy dish gloves.
