To be honest, the simple phrase of "nappy-headed ho" is not nearly as damaging as the portrayal of black women in the hip-hop/rap culture, which is predominantly African-American.

Anyway, I originally said hip-hop music and culture were to blame for why Imus said that awful comment (shortly after McGuirk started it), I still feel that way.
