it would, only if the camera was wide enough for you to fit through the door as well, which its not so you would have to make at least one more portal to get through... and the camera is a pain in the ass to get to work

This is unnecessarily difficult. As soon as you open the door, just shoot a portal to your left and go through it. You come out in a blind spot, and can pick them off easily.

I have the same question bumr. I used the energy balls on the other side of the door to knock all the "turrets" off, but the door was closed. I tried opening a portal above the door and then falling down to the bottom level...and hopefully get thrown completely across the room to the other side. I couldn't seem to get enough inertia going though.

I did the same, using the energy balls and all to hit the droids, but I got over and finally collected the box. The energy ball ceases to generate anymore and there is no solution from then on....all that hard work to get the box and then nothing....no energy ball (or cake!!)

Anyone help?

Three solutions:

1) As shown above in video

2) Using pellet to activate the receptacle

3) Standing on a portal's edge

2) After knocking off the turrets, redirect pellet to the receptacle, but be prepared as the door to it is only open for three seconds after open.

3) This takes patience and a game save. Place a blue portal on either side wall on level with the button across the chamber. Place a red portal anywhere behind you.

Stand on the edge of the portal and look into the room with the button until you get a good shot at a white wall in the button room. Fire another red portal.

Reload if you get pushed off into the drink.

With the red portal in place, back up and you're in the button room. Push the button, and get back inside that room. (continued)

...while the door is open. SAVE!

Reopen it, and quickly place an orange portal when it finishes opening. Run off the edge to the right and drop to the floor at water level and fire a blue portal. If done right, you'll fling yourself over to the box with the orange portal up at a 45 degree.

This will trick the computer into thinking you activated the receptacle and activate the bridge. Take the cube, use the bridge as a step to drop down back to the button, and carry on!

Hah... I was trying this same trick on the advanced map with a speed run but it's damned near impossible to rotate the sentry in the right way fast enough...

Someone else did it very quickly with a computer case inside the hidden chamber though. You might give that a shot, since you don't need an extra portal to get the sentry, and you might be able to hop on that.

I have gotten through the door in a mere 4 portals by now, grabbing the turret with the use of a bucket without wasting any more portals. Someone even found a strategy for just 8 portals by reusing one of the earlier portals for the final room, but I have yet to do that strategy myself.
