how do you get the sphere/head to look smooth? when i put a sphere into blender it always looks pixelated and set into rectangles of different shades

@drwr2008 Look at the panels at the bottom, the one titled 'Links and Materials.' at the bottom of that panel, it has the options of 'Set Smooth,' and 'Set Solid.' Press Set Smooth.

i thought, this could be usefull at start... i'm sorry but i prefer totourials i understand and when starting like that, the model will look easy and not detailed-.- you could do your whole head in sculpt mode but you havn't got good controll over the model i prefer plane-modeling

Go to Sculpt mode, Then Press "N" they will pop up. to get symetric on both sides of head press at the bottom of the modes Symetrical X

The tutorial is nice but the song is irritating. You should avoid songs with vocals. Most people can't focus when they hear vocals.
