Chronologically speaking I think CD comes before Sonic 2 since the lack of tails and a screen when doing Debug has tails saying see you next game. (Could metion Sonic 2 or 3.) But in the long run Cd was a great game I hope they have an option to use the Jap/euro music and allow you to switch to the American tracks when you get tired of the the other.

Haven't played Sonic CD but looks good and will like to try it out. Sonic 3 & Knuckles is the best Sonic game IMO though. I just hope it's not ruined by the Sega Vintage Collection menus.
For people questioning the timeline, I believe that when they're saying "See where the Sonic 4 saga began" they mean the events in CD affect what's going to happen in 4 E2. 4 doesnt have to take place immediately afterwards but there may be influences from CD in Ep2 (such as CD Metal Sonic returning).

@tnhdk9 I'm not a fan of Sega per se. I'm a fan of some of their development studios but that's about it. They've done some questionable things in the past. Avalanche isn't really communicating, but it's not their job to. Sega is supposed to handle the communication, marketing, and publishing, and so far they've done all of that. You should be looking at other customers, because it might just make you, and other PC gamers, look less like a bunch of rambunctious protesters because a port sucked.
@Dax331, I did not pre order those games, I pre ordered Renegade ops. Personally I can protest any game I desire - or company. The simple fact that they chose to not inform their playerbase of the issues or properly communicate the delays is the problem. Voice of reasoning is not telling someone what to do, its offering the counter argument and letting the choosen audience decide for themselves.
Pre ordering a product does not make one accept consequences. Get your facts straight.

I'm disliking this because I was TRULY disappointed in this game. I actually remember buying this for the Sega CD back in the day and getting it home and being upset. I actually played through the whole game hoping that it would get better but, it didn't. It seemed to get more and more boring. Best parts to me were racing/fighting Metal Sonic and the intro and outro animated videos....

Have done, bought it on the PS3 day it launched. But it has a game ending glitch in it that renders it unplayable which is why I was hoping the P.C version would come out and be fixed.

@BlueRedGreenYellow11 There is no dispute. Just some people who misinterpret trailer speak and jump to conclusions. Sonic CD is NOT set after Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Sonic CD was the debut of Metal Sonic, who will be back in Sonic 4 Episode 2. That means that Sonic 4.2 will probably reference the events of Sonic CD, but it does in NO WAY change Sonic CD's place in the timeline. This isn't speculation, it has been confirmed by a Sega person.

@Crappymovies2011 You're joking right? Sonic CD came out after Sonic 1, which was the original. I think it may have come out after Sonic 2 as well, but it's probably set before that game.

I'm not gonna complain about the "see where sonic 4 began" thing being there, but it makes no sense. I mean Sonic CD and Sonic 4 episode 1 have literally nothing in common. I know Episode 2's going to have Metal Sonic and a story about him and stuff but that's not even been revealed and not everybody watches everything sega says like a hawk. It's kind of a pointless selling point if you ask me. And why didn't they do the same thing for Sonic heroes? :o

I'm disliking this because I was TRULY disappointed in this game. I actually remember buying this for the Sega CD back in the day and getting it home and being upset. I actually played through the whole game hoping that it would get better but, it didn't. It seemed to get more and more boring. Best parts to me were racing/fighting Metal Sonic and the intro and outro animated videos....

Wow, in the last hour Renegade Ops has went from "staus out now" to "out 24th", "out 26th" out "27th" and then back to "out 26th".
And someone claims they saw it hit "out 23rd" too.
Oh and the Store says one date but the out soon tab says another.
SEGA and Avalanche have lost it, they really have, this is the P.C communities new Duke Nukem Forever.

I'd never heard of Renegade Ops until now so I looked it up and people are really disliking a Sonic CD video over this? Totally off topic. First of all, Sonic CD has nothing to do with that game and second it's stupid to dislike something completely irrelevant to why you're annoyed. They've been ignoring fans who purchased Ops some months ago and they've pushed the game back, and back, and back, and back, whilst it's already out on consoles.
So they've done this in order to try to get SEGA to listen as this was there current vid.

@shirtoug Alright, so that is one thing. Spamming/Bitching/Asking/Commenting about it on another video is not relevant however, and that will not get SEGA's attention, nor Avalanche's. Ofcourse I get that you guys are frustrated, but unless it's not going to affect what they earn from the game, eg sales, it wont be such of an issue. That is business, for good or bad, I guess.

@BlueRedGreenYellow11 There is no dispute. Just some people who misinterpret trailer speak and jump to conclusions. Sonic CD is NOT set after Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Sonic CD was the debut of Metal Sonic, who will be back in Sonic 4 Episode 2. That means that Sonic 4.2 will probably reference the events of Sonic CD, but it does in NO WAY change Sonic CD's place in the timeline. This isn't speculation, it has been confirmed by a Sega person.
