  • i remember ac transit had similar buses like these back in the 90s . btw is this the canal area of san rafael ....

  • I love that sound! Sounds tough!

  • This bus is too old to be repowered to the Series 50 engine and I believe it has already retired.

  • There are some exceptions on whether buses with the 6V92 engine should be repowered depending on the money they have. Like I've mentioned to you before, some buses can be rehabbed but not repowered although some other transit agencies can do both rehab and repower at the same time. And also, when the 6V92 powered buses retire, they either sell them to a different transit, use them as shuttle buses or mobile homes, or just have them scrapped.

  • Some transit authorities prefer to buy a new or newer engine rather than rebuild an older one. Repowering can be better in some cases, especially if the rest of the bus is in good condition.

  • Not a lot!

  • Yeaaahhh, I looooove the 6V92 sound!! Btw, how many of the New Flyer D60HF with the 6V92TA and the HTB-748 transmission buses are still left in service?
