Please the avic-f900bt works fine with my car.... but the only problem i have is that my country map Nigeria.... is not installed.... what seems to be the problem.... thank you..... any suggestions
Got a problem with my F900bt. its installed and all, but i get a message. CAUTION: SCREEN MAY BE REVERSE or something. but the music starts playing and i can access the MAP. but i cant access the system settings or the phone. cant even access the SD card. its just greyed out.. why is this?
its just seems long in this video in reality u dont even realize 37 seconds when u start the car and look at the unit 20 seconds are already gone..but ya still gonna get it!!

YES. When connected to the USB It will ask if you want "airplane mode" I always answer no and I can play music or videos, and the bluetooth will answer the phone.
Then it decides not to connect your phone, tried it on 2 different phones and same story, then there are lots of posts on the net about this model just giving up and deing after a few months, software corrupts and seems to happen a lot, and pioneer is not helpfull at all in customer services, just be very wary, I bought one because of the name and wanted one but quite disapointed, ps, there is battery power going to the yellow wire but still won't hold memory, after about 5 minutes
Do Not buy one, I did, and had nothing but problems with it from day 1, I am an auto electrician so I know my stuff.
The system has mickey mouse wiring and can't keep memory of radio presets and cd tracks etc, the handbrake wire is a pain (I just connected the green wire to the frame and fixed that), there is no power off button, it takes an age to load up and the voice command will not work, also there is no instruction user manual in the box, it drains the battery
I noticed in the video it was mentioned that voice recognition works with iPod and bluetooth phones.. does voice recognition work for selecting tracks from a USB source?
why in europe pioneer decided not to activate voice recognition ?
is it difficult to put other language recognise in this unit ?
anyway it's not a bad unit, but what's a little bad is that the user "pioneer mobile" don't answer....so...
One other thing to add, it's funny to see that pioneer starts faster if you connect ipod...if no ipod, it's a little bit longer...i didn't think to try before like that...
Due to the various languages in Europe it was difficult to offer a reliable voice recognition engine that supported all the languages, where as English, Spanish and French were much simpler to offer for the North American market. Hope this helps and thank you for the question.
is it possible to order a F90bt with voice recognition AND European maps? or is it possible to buy the european maps to load them on an American model?
@PioneerMobile we speak english in Australia yet it was disabled here as well. which is a shame as other manufacturers had this option on cheaper units that shouldnt compare to the 900bt
I just had the F900BT installed on my car and I'm just LOVING it! Superb system! The only problem is you cannot save phone contacts directly! You need to transfer contacts from another device and it does not accept contacts with more than 1 number!!
Hi. The system comes with the USB connection to play all the supported media formats. I haven't tried my external HDD yet... Will let you know if I veer tried it!
Pioneer, good job on replying. It shows a lot about your company that you're tackling these complaints heads-on.
However, your boot time is still atrocious. I have a $300 netbook running Windows that can boot and play music faster than that. I'll be sticking with my DEH-860MP until you get your boot-to-music time down to 10 seconds or less.
AM/FM/HD Radio/Sat. Radio/CD should all begin playing within 9 to 12 seconds. We used iPod to illustrate the most extreme case. Thank you for your feedback.
its ridiculous that you build a system that is so slow in today's technologies. Also one big - for your system is the lack of head up north in 2D maps, why did you disable this feature ? I loved previous avics due to this feature, why in the name of the lord its not possible to change your heading in 2D map ? and also why do we need to load up all european maps into system if you sell the avic in north america ? do you think that people from here go to europe ?
Good job Pioneer, this update goes along way for the company credibility on the F-Series. Make the next one have the 2d up capability in the map mode!
Excellent - a much needed update that installed very smoothly. I'm pretty impressed, though still irritated that there's a cap on phone book size transfer. Truncating after a few hundred entries is ridiculous. And those damn boxes are *STILL* over the map when not in navigation mode - irritating to no end!!! Oh well... perhaps in 2.1 or 3.0 Pioneer? ;-)
Firmware 2.0 goes a long way towards fixing many of the complaints people have about the F-Series, but there are still issues with the F-Series that need to be resolved. I hope Pioneer continues active firmware development for the F-Series

start up quite ok, 30s, time to seat, to fast seat belt, it's correct.
just 2 points that i'm not sure please look my comment on my video comment....with little trouble on igntion...
is it because avic starts slowly that pioneer enginers didn't put the on/off button ...?
for 10 seconds less without on/off button, i'm not sur power system of the avic will be ok...
