My friends' cat has gone missing as have 3 others on her street in Wellesley. They've also been spotted in Franklin. They're strong and agile and can take down a fair sized dog.

@CAMEOAGENCY depends on what you mean by "fair sized". they couldnt handle something the size of a german shepard/belgian malinois. a chihuahua or pomeranian would be more their speed.

@ohjeeeeez They are an endangered species!!! Yesterday I saw one for the first time in my life. I was concerned because of its reputation for violence so I contacted animal control. The officer said I should feel privileged to have seen one. It is a good idea to accompany smaller dogs and cats while fishercats are around. It is against the law to kill one. We are eliminating their habitat... it is the fault of humans that they are forced to survive by hunting in populated neighborhoods.

Thanks for the video, I was told they can climb really well. Not that this makes me happy as we are surrounded by woods.

One has been hanging around my place for a few days. It came within 30 feet of my house where my dog (small and fluffy) was laying out. I saw it again today hanging out at the edge of the property,

I suspect that it thinks my dog is an easy snack, so now she's not going outside by herself. If he comes back in the yard and I get a clean shot, I'm taking it.

We have just spotted a fisher cat this week in Centennial Park in Wellesley, right behind our house.  Last night, it was screaming for 5 minutes, and woke us both up!

Bullshit my ass! My dad saw one 50 feet from his house! We have had either a fisher or a fox run around our tent screaming for hours! They live in the Pinebush in NY also, which is surrounded by malls, Highways and 2 major cities!
