There is a Marvin Heemeyer in all of us that when backed into a corner will come out fighting. I salute Heemeyer for the sacrifice he made to prove a point. All reports that weren't smear jobs on the man say that he went out of his way to ensure no one was hurt or killed from not plowing a giant propane tank that could have taken out him and a large portion of town, to outright yelling to police 'Get out of my way, I don't want to hurt you!'

The guy bought land from the government for $42000. Then sold a portion of the land to concrete business for $250000 then decided he wanted more money. Meanwhile he had no sewage in his facilty (reason for town yanking his permit) and the dispute made concrete company unwilling to cooperate. Despite this he was able to lease his land and go on wth his life.
I'd bet anything this was a typicall tea party type ignoring all that the government had given him and wanting more more more.

Supposedly he got into an arguement with a cement plant near his shop due to some zoning laws, the council sided with the plant and slapped him with some fines that smell suspiciously bogus, consequently he was driven under. The whole deal he got stinks of corruption. Yet right or wrong, you got to admit Heemeyer was a freaking genius for how he put Killdozer together.

It makes me worry for America, that someone like Marvin Heemeyer can work hard and build his business up, to make his little niche in the world.
And then a bunch of corrupt local politicians steal his land with the flick of a pen. And when he fights back, he's the criminal.
It makes you wonder - why bother trying to build anything in America anymore? Why try to achieve anything great, when some crooked politicians can just take it away from you?

@FiswaT Actually, he went out of his way to avoid all bystanders. He only damaged property. His killdozer got stuck at the end of his rampage, and he took his life with a gun inside the vehicle. He was the only person wounded or killed.

@aldoreshgaramok I went on google earth and Granby has two churches, Mormon and Catholic. Next door top each other. Both large. I don't know who was on the city council. But I have my prejudice's. Not that a Jesuit couldn't do a number. But Mormonism is Jesuitism refined. It seems to be along term agenda with the council. Someone probably wanted his land and/or his business. I have many such Mormon stories. This is a cow town.

Supposedly he got into an arguement with a cement plant near his shop due to some zoning laws, the council sided with the plant and slapped him with some fines that smell suspiciously bogus, consequently he was driven under. The whole deal he got stinks of corruption. Yet right or wrong, you got to admit Heemeyer was a freaking genius for how he put Killdozer together.
