  • his impact postition at 0.37 is amazing.

  • Wonderfull! front view is (for me) like a hogan back swing and a Jones swing through impact and up. First impression. i would love to have seen his ball flight. :) also with such a good waggle it really wouldn't be too far a leap for such a good thinker as Hogan was obviously to achieve pronation theory, having watched this swing intently.

  • @learn4perspective Thanks. Very good comments here.

  • I can see the resemblance in Hogan's 1930s-1940s per-accident swing, to Mac Smith's. Very rare footage of Melhorn and Smith, well done!

  • You probably know this already, but Harvey Penick said Macdonald Smith's swing was "the prettiest I ever saw."

  • @emncaity Yes, Sir. And he was damn roight, wasn't he ?

  • @h1e2x3

Hard to argue much with it, yeah. Plus, I'm thinking Harvey knew what to look for and must've seen critical things going really right in Smith's swing.

  • Look at 1:03-04 of the video (01:18:43-01:18:44) !!! Looks like rear foot preset ! Damn, look at the waggle, too. And the diagonal stance. Wow. Not mentioning more obvious things like trigger compression or low plane angle.
