No it is not. It is a masterpiece of literature chronicling the history & mythology of ancient Persia (a span of about 10,000 years). It starts in Prehistoric times and ends with the Arab invasion and defeat of the Persian Empire. It is important to note that Arabs are not mentioned in over 99.9% of the book and are only mentioned in the context of this invasion at the very end of the book. So to say that the whole book is racist against any particular ethnic group is quite ignorant of the facts
Arab is not a race, it is a language. Are the palestanians Arabs? or Sematic speaking Arabic? Egyptian, Morrocans, Algerians? Lebanese? Syrian? Jordanian? Iraqis? No. They all lost their language and culture to invading Bedoin Moslem Armies. On the other hand, the Persians, Kurds, Turks. became moslem yet did not lose their languange and their identities. That is primarly due to great work by Ferdosi. He showed that one can be a moslem without having to lose his cultural identity.
