  • whistle is wrong and sounds to low like wm734

  • Im so jealous i want one!

  • Truly a beautiful model of a gorgeous steam engine! No wonder the price is quite high! I've only got a Bachmann HO gauge J over here in the UK , sadly not a DCC one...yet ;)

  • thanks!

  • @pickerel101 My little brother has an ho version of this made by bachman. Also when I was a kid growning up in the 90's I got to see the real J 611 it used to run through our town of Circleville Ohio taking railroad big shots tours. What does one of the ones like you have cost?

  • awesome train

  • Isn't there a button where you can make the engine's chuff sound like it's working harder? Cool engine! I might just have to get me one of those. (Using my sister's account.)

  • Wait, is this a lionel? Holy crap! I never knew that they had quillable whistles before! 8-}

  • It's an MTH....Lionel would NEVER have a locomotive as nice as this.

  • They do SOME. Like type in "Lionel Legacy GS4".

  • I've seen that GS-4....and it's one of the most over-priced models I've ever seen.

  • :-X I stand corrected! I like MTH's J, but Lionel's has a steam bell than like this swinging bell.

  • is that with the coal part

  • If you mean the real coal load then Yes.

  • how long is the engine its really cool i gotta make room on the turntable

  • Thanks for your comments! Its about 27" long. When you get it, you will be so suprised how awsome it is!

  • i getting one in march of 2010 cause gotta save up from b-day

  • cool how much for it

  • The engine by itself is $1,200, but if you get the cars, its $1300. Thanks!

  • Very nice locomotive. We have the Williams version converted over to Lionel TMCC and a quiet motor. It's got great sound. Especially that steamboat whistle.

  • Awesome!!!!

  • Thanks!!

  • love the whistle

  • Its AWSOME!!

  • omg omg omg omg omg Best whistle ever to go on a model train

  • Thanks!

  • Wow, that's a beautiful engine.

    How much did it cost?

  • Thanks!! The engine itself cost about $1,500, but i got 4 passanger cars with it so it was about $1,200. MTH Product# 20-3364-1

  • Eh, I'll probably have to go with the Railking one.

I'm trying to find a model of the J numbered 611. I would go ahead and buy the Railking model and change the number on it myself, but I'm afraid that I might mess it up...

  • Check this product # out. MTH # 30-1480-1. it is J#611!

  • Thanks, but almost $400 for a Railking? That seems a little too expensive for Railking...

  • How do u get the whistle 2 do that!!!

  • The J has a new feature called a quilling whistle. It is accessable through the dcs remote! Thanks!

  • This is O scale right? Great sounding locomotive. the J's are my favorite

  • Yeah! Its awsome.
