I was stationed there in 1987 with VMFP-3 That place is awesome Kintai bridge is something that I will never forget especially crossing it. i always wanted to go back.
I lived there for 7 years of my 10 years in the Marines. I didn't want to leave. I loved Japan so much, I married a japanese girl, and have been happily married for 25 years.
i used to live here, too - as an English teacher for a few year...great park around the bridge, but not much to do in I-Town at night unless you can hang out with the hostess club girls...

stationed at IWA MCAS from 75-76. Beautiful place and a wonderful people. Hope I get to visit again.

i lived on the military base there (dad was a marine). sooo yeah, i've seen the kintai bridge quite a few times... (assuming that was it) =)

Great example of wooden bridge architecture...without nails. Visited this site many times in 1979.
