  • It's a shame that this record wasn't a big hit. It didn't even chart. Better than some songs at the time that did chart.

  • One of my favorites. Real group harmony. Great song.I'm fortunate to have it in my collection.---Artie

  • Beautiful Doo Wop!!! I love it!!!!

  • Thanks for posting this. Alan Fredericks was my father. Thanks again!!

  • @fredericksny - Thanks for reaching out. He's one of my my favorite DJ's. I'm also sorry for your loss. I was sad when I found out he passed.

  • Classic doowop, to cut it short.

  • PERFECT SONG

  • This is the the real 'shit'!!!! You and her right there!

  • I was President of Alan's "Fan Club" and used to spend a lot of time in the studio at WGBB in Freeport. I recall the "remotes" we used to do from Long Beach. Alan was a very special person and moved on to become the Editor of Travel Weekly for 25 years . He passed away in 2005. He had one of those great mellifluous voices and was extremely bright and a pleasure to be with. He succeeded a fellow by the name of Lee Donohue who started the Night Train show in Freeport.

  • I remember being in his studio trying to get our record played..then we wound up taking requests on the phone...memories

  • mmmmmmmmhhh...fine1 ;)

  • I slow-danced to this song 40 years ago...

    Thanks for the great memory!

  • You're very welcome

  • Another excellent record. I just finished discussing this group with somebody else. Two members (Theodore Olds and Robert Honey) of this group were formerly members of The Tokens, the Black group who recorded "Come Dance With Me" for Gary Records, late July 1958. After that one single, Olds and Honey joined other guys to form Eddie & The Starlites.

  • sweet !!!!

  • Beautiful tune. The Alan Fredericks stamp is very cool. Thanks very much for sharing.

  • Thanks for listening / commenting

  • excellent :)

  • This is so great! I remember the Alan Fredricks Nigh Train Show in New York! I also remember Dick Clark playing this record on his weekday Bandstand Show as a ladies choice record on WABC-TV.

  • I'm not surprised it made Bandstand. It was a pretty big hit when it came out

  • @MrHalfox I listened to Alan Fredricks on WGBB in Freeport NY many years ago - I was a "box car."

  • What A Lovely Song!!! Thankyou PJ....Anita..

  • Quality tune :))

  • Fine, fine stuff that never made it to 'El Pacifico! keep 'em comin' :)

  • Interesting.. I know it was a hit in NY

  • This, the second Scepter record, was released one record in front of the the Shirelle's DEDICATED TO THE ONE I LOVE in early '59. Nice.

  • This is true. Scepter had two sizable hits in their first three releases, and then had 4 flops in a row.

  • aw i member this song

  • It's a hard record to forget :)

  • I got about 100 records in the collection. The notable ones are Run Run Run by The Sparks on Hull, Baby Baby by The Fairlanes on Radiant and an unreleased acetate by The Treytons.

  • Ahhhh...this is so NICE! I got a kick out of the stamp "Alan Fredericks - Night Train" label! Thank you PJ!

  • Amazingly, this is the copy Alan played on the air when this record was a hit. The person that sold me this collection stated that he father was his engineer. There were some really rare records in the collection, but all were played a lot since they were used for radio play.

  • @PJDooWop

Wow, what a treasure trove! Thanks again!
