@Dannyboy855 K I did my research on that and asked some US Soldiers and I also checked many sources, Israel accidently fired on the ship due to it being in waters near Israel, Israel during this time was in the 6 day war and mistaked the ship for an enemy ship. They fired for their own safety, its called friendly fire. Israel paid all of the isurance for the families in the US which cant bring them back but if Israel meant to hit the ship why would they pay the families of the deceaced.
