The cover fails because the original was more than just the lyrics. Matter fact the lyrics are secondary to the solo's of the original.

This replaces the instrumental part with something generic and more pronunciation on the lyrics - which is kinda lame. They aren't enough to stand on by themselves when sang like that. Sounds like some generic RGB song (VS a good one).

It's not based on the Doors song it's more in line with the Jose Feliciano's version.

Will was very new to the music business when he first sang this arrangement. In the auditions. He was encouraged to do an original version.

I highly doubt you have seen the Doors live with Jim Morrison, back in '67. Jim Morrison would hate this version of the song. To begin with, this guy has no soul in his singing, hes just a John Mayer rip off.
