I find this consoling, especially when you figure that World War II was going on, but that did not stop the Vatican from canonizing saints! The Church never fails to raise up saints in times of needs... and this was definitely one of them, because Saint Gemma Galgani had to have been praying for peace. She almost became my Confirmation saint. Then again, almost every female saint became my Confirmation saint. It took me a year to figure out it was going to be St. Bernadette.
