so i just watched the trailer and it's nothing like the book. i mean it has a couple parts here and there, but rose feller is supposed to be chunky, last i checked toni collete is as skinny as cameron. the whole book is about the weight difference

@purplexandxgreen well shes a bit more plump in the beginnning of the film and the clothes they make her wear make her look bigger. but toni did gain weight for the role and then the character loses in it in the movie. plus in the book rose is not suppose to be fat or anything, just a lil extra weight like love handles and stuff lool. so i thought the book matched the movie in that way as well as many others.

@purplexandxgreen actually I've read the book as while, and they are quite similar except the movie is actually better and Jennifer Weiner admitted that herself on the special features. They do talk about Rose being fat in the movie a lot.

Saw this on the bus to Spain and I almost groaned when I saw the title thinking it was another stupid chick-flick, but I was completely blown away by it. It's still one of my favorite movies ever. Love the Elizabeth Bishop poem that gets recited somewhat brokenly during the film.

This movie was so good. I didn't seem that coming! It hits you out of nowhere when you think it will be a boring, sucky, B flick! LOVED IT! It made me cry. I have 3 older sisters and our relationships are very strained and difficult. Real tear-jerker. My friend saw this 5x - in the theatres! She loved it that much! GREAT MOVIE!

I just saw watched this movie recently, and it was incredible. Maybe the movie was a little slow at the beginning, but this movie got to me, and I could not stop watching it. I don't care if people label this as a chick flick, it was so enjoyable to watch. To sit back and watch Maggie and Rose's characters grow and change in this movie was riveting. I really enjoyed this movie and how all the dysfunctional behaviors unraveled, and then how people grew and changed. Great performances by all!
