There's two possible explanations to Mr. Pickels:

1) He is imaginary, and Lammy thinks he is killing people, and in an attempt to stop him, ends up killing them instead.

2) Mr. Pickels can only be seen by Lammy, who is schizophrenic, and when attempting to stop him, makes it look like she killed the characters.
