Good try but I do not agree. 10. Cathrina? 1737 A typhoon takes the lives of some 300.000 people in Calcutta. 9. Pompeii volcano. I say Mount Tambora or Krakatoa. 8. Black death was between 1348 and 1350. However what about Malaria? 7. San Andreas Earthquake? How about 1960 Valdivia earthquake? 6 Spanish Flu? How about Tubercolosis? 5. No way, forget it! We got to focus on the big ones now. Tsunami in SE Asia. 4. Chernobyl. 3. WWI. 2. WWII 1. Facebook.
18,000 inhabitants were killed in the great fire of London
by inhabitants you mean rats, dogs and cats (probably not dogs and cats) because only 3 people were recorded dead by that fire... and it killed off the plague... :3
400 MILLION PLUS 300 MILLION PERISHED IN THE SLAVE TRADE DONE BY THE ISLAMIC TRADE AND THE SO CALLED CHRISTIAN TRANSATLANTIC SLAVE TRADE--TOTAL 700 MILLION....RESEARCH IT WITH A HEART THAT WANTS TO KNOW TRUTH INSTEAD OF DENIAL..
very biased yes the holocaust was extremely bad it was but THE TRANATLANTIC SLAVE TRADE KILLED MORE THAN 400 MILLION PEOPLE THE ARAB SLAVE TRADE KILLED APPROXIMATELY 300 MILLION PEOPLE AND THE CAMBODIA HOLOCAUST KILLED 9 MILLION PEOPLE SO IT WAS MORE THAN THE JEWISH HOLOCAUST......THOSE WERE PEOPLE THAT DIED IN THOSE DISASTERS....GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT..
Hurricane Katrina was nothing. Rated worst hurricane FOR USA!! Not the world! In Bangladesh they have hurricanes that kill 500,000 + people. Katrina was nothing. San Andreas fault earthquake was nothing either. This whole video revolves around America, no offense. At 2:19 that's a dust storm, doesn't go with the tsunami. Holocaust is the only one that should be on that list. And what about the black death? if that was on your video it would be #1. Sorry for being such a troll
@maxyboy1995 hmmm, i guess you just wanted to make a video, that you like, right? please tell me it was just for fun, because many of your facts are totally screwed up! it hurts to watch the video. for example about the great fire of london: 6 People not 80000 were killed. 80000 was the number of people that lived in the city at that time.
You would think the nearly 15 million who died in the trans-Atlantic slave trade and subsequent involuntary servitude of America and the Caribbean, might have made the list.... OH my bad. America doesn't want to remember that.
The worst disaster was actually the Great Earthquake in Japan on March 11 this year which caused over 10,000 deaths and a damage of around US-$ 300 billions if I am not wrong.
The Wenchuan Earthquake in China happened in May 2008 caused 90,000 deaths and slightly less damage.
The Black Death occurred in the 14th century (not in the 17th).
Perhaps after more historical research and knowledge you might be able to come with a video with the same title that do not insult the rest of humanity!! Till then, better restrain from making videos!!
I know Katrina was a horrible thing and a very bad disaster, but not to be in the top 10
if there are no natural disasters you could have placed, the bomb of Hiroshima, the Earthquake in Mexico, 1985, the one of Haiti, 2010, the one of China 2008..
and agree with other users, any other war.....wars of america since the end of comunism, left more casualties than alcohol car accidents in the last 100 years
Just saying, Mt. Vesuvius does still excist. It is not as active as it was but if you wish to put stuff such as things like that, dig deeper that was back in 79AD, if you wish to do something about a volcano then that is not that answer, Mt. Tambora was by far the worst.
80,000 people did not die in the Great Fire of London! Only SIX deaths were recorded. The worst disaster in history was actually The Black Death in Europe, Asia and Africa between 1346 and 1353 - not in the 1600's as your vid suggests (That was The Great Plague). It is estimated that the Black Death killed about 100 million people which was about a quarter of the world's population at the time.
Hurricane Katrina was NOT the worst. It was only a category 3 when it hit land. The levees couldn't hold all the water because they were old and unmaintained. Al Gore implied it was the hurricane that was horrible to fit his lies about global warming.
the great kanto earthquake was very terrible too mainly because of the fires. THen of course we need to update the touhoku quake... and what else.... idk but I hope theres no more for a long time O.O
Ps there dude there were two major san Andreas fault earthquakes and the San Francisco wasn't as bad as the Japan earthquake and the fire destroyed all most all of San Francisco and your pictures are pretty bad
Your facts are EXTREMLY WRONG, why is spanish flu 5th? it killed about 20-30 million people, and katarina killed 1836 along with 135 missing, your facts are way off dude.
If you mean the plague in London and southern England of 1665, which is what the uploader seems confused about, it was nothing compared to the Black Death. Read Philip Ziegler's excellent book on the subject if you're interested.
You are way off on the death toll of Katrina, right off the bat when I began watching this video. Shameful....you said 125 people and I have not even gotten to disaster 9 yet......
Only the holocaust and the tsunami of indonesia deserve to be in this video. There have been so many more disasters in history than these others, such as the casualties from the expansion of the Roman Empire which was over a million(many peopled died in other ancient wars throughout history too). There have also been other epic natural disasters that have killed many people. One epic disaster 100s of thousands of years ago almost wipedout all of humanity. AIDS is also resposible for many deaths.
I read your uploader comment saying not to tell you that you are wrong, but you are so wrong that i have to correct you. If your video wasn't so inaacurate then people like me wouldn't have to keep telling you that you are wrong. If you post a faulty video then you have to take the criticism with it, if you can't then take the video down.
The death toll to the great fire of London is WRONG.The original figure was put in single figures. However the recordist's Hanson and Tiniswood did confer that due to the amount of old/sick/young/lame the poor may not have escaped in time so the credible figure is possible SEVERAL thousand that have gone unrecorded. Not the 80,000 as stated. And yes I am from London.
wow out of these 10 things I was alive to see 3 of them...I remember the day 911 happened...Im going to tell my kids about that someday and about Katrina and the BP oil spill.
Today we stil a life but tomorrow not one knows..if god want to take any time he can take even billionth maybe.we are just human being can't do anything and we are just nothing..I hope god blessing us always
Hurrican katrina was NOT the worst hurrican, i cant remember the name off the top of my head but a hurricane hit texas years and years ago, killed thousands
at about number 6 i was about to put a dislike because of the detailed american disastors and no other country disastors but then came the boxing day tsunami and the great fire of london. You could have researched a bit more such as Mt VESUVIUS.
I agree with number one but you need to upgrade this list. By recorded history, it's okay but if you look at other things that happened with our eyes turned away, much more important disasters happened. Where's the dinosaurs extinction? The comet that blew them all away? You also got to put in that latest earthquake/tsunami. So many disasters. The Pompeii Volcano should have been closer to number one than the 9/11 incident.
@emploeon7 although it seems that way that probably saved thousands if not millions of lives. 200,000 people died within a few weeks of the two bombings and probably 200,000 more died earlier deaths because of poisining but the other option was the U.S. invading which would have cost probably about 100,000-200,000 allied and upwards of 500,000 Japanese deaths. Japan was preparing their women and children for war as well. They were given the chance to surrender.
@twez1236 that slipped my mind, the Nazi thing made me think more about war disasters for some reason. but yea, that could be a good suggestion, but about the tsunami, did it hit other countries?if it did that should earn a spot on the list. and that earthquake must of killed alot and damaged alot of things.man i feel really sorry for the Japanese.oh and what about the nuclear plant failure, the radiation was pretty serious.lots of diseases must of happened in that thing
Was the purpose of this to demonstrate disasters which were a significant turning point in world history? If so then you have a few in there which a valid however, there are a few here which are arguably just tragic disasters (San Andreas and Tri-State Tornado). I feel a bit funny placing these two in a countdown alongside September 11 and the Holocaust. Also, the omission of Hiroshima/Nagasaki astounds me if your purpose was disasters which caused a turning point in history.
omg in the san andreas disaster its like ' it doesn't really matter that they killed only a pair of people the important thing is is that we last money' alright does someone think there is something wrong here
Dont bother commenting on my video if your going to tell me what my opinion should be. by all means tell me your opinion, but dont begin to tell me that im wrong.
@maxyboy1995 april 26 1986 .............. chernobyl. killed lots of people. And others are getting diagnosed with radiation in their blood and causes cancer, vomiting ect.
The bubonic plague killed MILLIONS of people and you put the san andreas earthqauke before it, yes it caused billions of pounds of damage but can you really put a price on a million human lives?
Maxboy you did a great job on this video my friend my I also make a suggestion the Jonestown massacre and david koresh and maybe columbine and verginia tech god bles my friend
The great fire of London was rumored to have killed very few. You've written that 70,000 houses were destroyed and 80,000 inhabitants killed. What you should've written that 70,000 out of the 80,000 people living in London lost their homes, as that was the population of London at the time.
the plague was mad serious, it killed over a third of the European population to the point they had the burn ppl in the streets bc they couldn't bury them all, that's also what the "ring around the rosy" song is about, little children making fun of pple with the plague....HORRIBLE!!!!
i'm sorry, the tri-state tornado is worse than the flu epidemic that killed an estimated 20 million people...? or the fire of london...? and which san andreas fault quake? there are over 100 san andreas fault quakes in california Per Year.... and the Black Death that you are referring to (and showing a painting of) is the one in 1348...
they may be big disasters but remeber pearl harbor...
you should have written world war 2 , that was problemy the biggest disaster ever... and maybe the cause of others disasters too... but besides that it's fine ...
i just think people always forget pearl harbor and titanic (mostly pearl harbor) and the US it self said it was the biggest disaster for america doing the world war 2
If 9/11 and the holocaustare there than you should definitely have the transatlantic slavery and the massacre in Rwanda and Sudan, the butcher of the Balkan (millosovic) and many more
i wish we could bring Hitler back to life so we could kill him over and over and over and over and over again each time in some excruciatingly painful way.
@3ISAMAGICNUMBR Have you not ever wondered what the world would be like if Hitler had succeded. I wonder if it might be a better place. Look at Iraq without Saddam. They are hating it now! They will even admit that life was 100 times better with Saddam in power. Hitler may have ended up causing something better for us all in cause and effect into the future. I'm not saying what he did was right but am just wondering what the worlds situation would be like had Hitlers plans came through.
@begoneyoubum He was a monster who brought about a needless war for world domination and the wiping out of half the human race and anyone else deemed impure by their racist ideology. Had Hitler succeeded we would have lost that which makes us great: our humanity. The ammount of culture lost, all great minds of the 20th century inventing mad gibberish to sustain an unfounded belief of superiority by performing beastly experiments on fellow humans. To even believe that this is good is foolish.
Why does everyone leave Hiroshima out of these things???

I know that some people think that what I'm about to say is wrong but...
9/11: 3000 people died.
Irak, Afganistan: Between 14000 & 34000 CIVILIANS died.
I'm not saying that is good that the Al Qaeda kills people but the USA killed more people in just Afganistan than the number of people dead in NY.

clickinman25 11 months ago
@clickinman25 what about moa ze dong who murdered way more than the soviet leader together.

TheBreeebreee 11 months ago
Sorry, 'which are* valid'
TheBreeebreee 11 months ago
if those "disasters" also count stuff caused by humans, then hurricanes and all that shit is nothing.

The great fire of London was rumored to have killed very few. You've written that 70,000 houses were destroyed and 80,000 inhabitants killed. What you should've written that 70,000 out of the 80,000 people living in London lost their homes, as that was the population of London at the time.
keglady 1 year ago
the plague was mad serious, it killed over a third of the European population to the point they had the burn ppl in the streets bc they couldn't bury them all, that's also what the "ring around the rosy" song is about, little children making fun of pple with the plague....HORRIBLE!!!!
thalialuvmx 1 year ago
the great fire of london wasn't that bad!
It eradicated the plague in London and only 6 deaths were ever reported...
dbobinson 1 year ago
i'm sorry, the tri-state tornado is worse than the flu epidemic that killed an estimated 20 million people...? or the fire of london...? and which san andreas fault quake? there are over 100 san andreas fault quakes in california Per Year.... and the Black Death that you are referring to (and showing a painting of) is the one in 1348...
CTForrester 1 year ago
they may be big disasters but remeber pearl harbor...
you should have written world war 2 , that was problemy the biggest disaster ever... and maybe the cause of others disasters too... but besides that it's fine ...
i just think people always forget pearl harbor and titanic (mostly pearl harbor) and the US it self said it was the biggest disaster for america doing the world war 2

i wish we could bring Hitler back to life so we could kill him over and over and over and over and over again each time in some excruciatingly painful way.
3ISAMAGICNUMBR 1 year ago
@3ISAMAGICNUMBR Have you not ever wondered what the world would be like if Hitler had succeded. I wonder if it might be a better place. Look at Iraq without Saddam. They are hating it now! They will even admit that life was 100 times better with Saddam in power. Hitler may have ended up causing something better for us all in cause and effect into the future. I'm not saying what he did was right but am just wondering what the worlds situation would be like had Hitlers plans came through.

@begoneyoubum You are an ignorant, ignorant man...
letsgetthisoverwith 1 year ago
@letsgetthisoverwith
How is this being ignorant? To ignore a possibility soley because you hate Hitler is foolish.
begoneyoubum 1 year ago
@begoneyoubum He was a monster who brought about a needless war for world domination and the wiping out of half the human race and anyone else deemed impure by their racist ideology. Had Hitler succeeded we would have lost that which makes us great: our humanity. The ammount of culture lost, all great minds of the 20th century inventing mad gibberish to sustain an unfounded belief of superiority by performing beastly experiments on fellow humans. To even believe that this is good is foolish.
