I WANT TO GO TO THAT SHOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 70 1/2? I never heard of that, I want that Camaro, trade you my 75 for it =] jk lol I wouldn't do it cause she's my first.
ive been looking for a 70-73 camaro with a 6 cyl. i think they were the berlinettas maybe?? or the S E model not sure, but my uncle had one that was off white 250 in line 6 ,and it had only power steering and an automatic...id love to have one close to that if not the same
How can the build sheet say this is a real Z? I've posted on this video before and Fleming's better do some research. NO AIR CONDITIONING offered on a '70 Z. Not until 1973. Vents on dash a dead giveaway. And of course, no radials. (nice upgrade, but not correct). Buyers beware.
Jeff I have a 70 1/2 Z28 All matching Number car. Had for 35 years. Red Black Stripes. 350 LT-1. 400 Trans. Has been in climate controlled garage since 1978. Showed for many years. Thinking about selling (615-439-0438) Truly All Matching number Car....
@bagrat22 Sorry dude it did have the vents. My brother had this exact green Z28 and it had the vents but not AC. His had a Z28 emblem on the steering wheel and not the RS emblem.
OMG Thank you man That sound that car made MAN! it made my day! I have that exact car that im going to restore in a couple of months i Tell you how it comes out!
the only thing that sux about cars like that is there so perfect u cant always drive it like a maniac but one year we will restore our 69 bac to perfect for now its not perfect but its still a freakin awesome car
@02DZ Well if someone put a different Cam in it. It wouldn't be a correct car then. My '70 Z/28 sounds exactly like that and its Numbers Matching with the 4 Speed M21 Manual.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
and once again, no 70 1/2 Camaros exist. You build great cars but fail to realize there never was a 701/2 Camaro. I suppose you will remove my comments again. Whatever
When Chevrolet changed the body style 1970 from the 1969 style it took them 6 months longer than a normal switch. That's why it is called a 701/2. Because it didn't hit the showroom floor until 1/2 the year was over.
I have a '70 1/2 Z28 and i can tell because it has the correct spoiler from a '69 and here i will go get the book it says Spoiler 22.60 (another spoiler was offered marking that your Camaro is a '70 1/2.)
I have gotten my information from The Camaro Whitebook.
@Coolkid89383 There were NO 1970 1/2 camaros ever buildt. They came out late in the year and some people insist on calling them 70 1/2. Some people actually think there are 1970 AND 19701/2 camaros. There isn't. They are all buidt/registered as 1970 year models. I don't care what your white book says. Your title says 1970 NOT 19701/2. Could care less what spoiler you put on it. Does your white book say anything about a seperate year camaro being made ? No it does not.
Just because they are registered as '70 Models doesn't mean they are true '70s. Here let me go read it again. Heres one of the 1970 Facts. As production of Z28s continued they started to put a different spoiler on it. if you look at some '70 Camaros you will see they have different spoilers on some. Thats because the orginal owner chose a '69 COPO spoiler option that they offered
To truly complete the RS option, it should have an outer and inner ring of chrome on each tail light. Extra chrome on the tail light would have also been available as part of the "style trim" option if ordered.
The car looks very nice. As most people noted, a/c was not offered in Z28's in 1970 1970 was the first year the automatic (M40) was offered in a Z28, Approximately 1 in 6 were automatics in 1970 making them very desireable. 1970 Z28 tachometers are 0 to 8,000 rpm. The a/c vents are a turn off and way wrong. If it's an early 70Z the Z will be missing on the id tag. A sweet car but I sure wish we could have got a shot of the sun visors and gas pedal tho.
Well your dad probably had a RS or SS or the RS/SS because until 1970 the Camaro Z28 came with a turbo hydra-matic automatic transmission that could be ordered
I call BS on this car! I bought one of these off a Chevy dlr showroom in 1970, and I know. Things wrong: auto trans, not available; 7000rpm tach, should go to 8000 on a real Z/28; headers, car came with iron manifold; 8-track tape, only AM radio was available. Things wrong: auto trans, not available; 7000rpm tach, should go to 8000 on a real Z/28; headers, car came with iron manifold; 8-track tape, only AM radio was available. Nice music, though, Allman Brothers. Nice try, fellas.
christopherrnoto 3 years ago
Yes, Iwas sceptical about the automatic too. We had the original factory build sheet that proved it to be a genuine Z28 with Turbo 400 trans and Ralley Sport option. You are right about the radio and I'm not sure about the tach.
Thanks.
carsbyjeff 3 years ago
2 things jump out at me. One the TACH is NOT a original z/28. THe red line on a 1970z/28 was 6500rpm. The radio seems to be aftermarket. BUT the car is NICE.

Don't know where you're getting your info. '68 & '69 Z/28s were 4 spped only. The 2nd gen Camaro Z/28 was the first avavilable with automatic (taken from "The Great Camaro" By Michael Lamm, page 74), but I knew that without the book.
fcatf6 3 years ago
OK, apology time. I'm clearly wrong about the auto trans, which other sites also mention as "first available in 1970". Honest mistake, I'd never seen a real 1970 Z/28 with an automatic, and knew that air conditioning was unavailable in that year.
I come by my info honestly, as I bought a 1970 Z/28, Hugger Orange, brand new, for $3,995 plus tax and tags, that year. I dearly loved that car, and have stayed in touch with the "community" since then.

The 1970 Z28 did not come with A/C due to the high reving LT 1 350. There are A/C ducts in your dash??
harkz28 3 years ago
So it is probably the same as the Corvette which didn't start putting air in LT-1's until 1972 which was the only year of the LT-1 with air cond.
Did the Z/28 LT-1 or even Corvette LT-1 come only in 4 spd. manuals?
microminiskirt 2 years ago
There were very few automatic 1970rsz28.
There were many more 4 speeds but NO Air Condition. The dash is wrong if it is a real Z!!!
harkz28 2 years ago
That's interesting if any 1970 1/2 Z/28 had an automatic as the 70 LT-1 Corvette only came in 4 spd. with no Air cond till 1972 with air.
