  • Aww, Lia is so well behaved while hanging out with her

    Daddy. She's a cutie! = ]

  • CGI = my disgust for modern day film making. It has its plus side, but when it comes to Horror films.. Minimal is KING!

  • he looks like carminne appice from king kobra haha

  • i'm a big horror fan,and savini is my all time favorite make-up effects artist! killer talent!

  • tom savini should work on "Last Rites: The Return of Sebastian Vasilis"

  • i met Tom Savini in person in a theater for Inception, one of the best days of my life.

  • Engineering, electrics, hydraulics & a mastery of mechanics, when at its best you don't even a suspension of disbelief! CGI is simply a much cheaper and easier way to replace the dying artistry of the genius that is Tom Savini & his kind!

  • WTF his daughters in that room!? what about those horrible efx and shit dont they scare her????

  • Monkey Shines is such an underrated movie. it's one of my favesssssss

  • CGI is of course not bad compared with this stuff - OF CORSE it is generally better and give a more authentic look. People here complain, only because they are afraid people going to forgot this old masterpieces - they see it as a silly competition, which it not is.

Without Meliés in the beginning of 1900, King Kong 1930 and Savini during 1970-80, we should never have the modern high tech FXs. Hat off for a genius like Savini.

  • wow, that music at the beginning is just embarrassing. great video otherwise!

  • 1:15 thats scary, A nightmare on elm street 2010 doesnt

  • I don't get this attitude people have that it's either one or the other. Practical FX are great and they work best for some genres - particularly for bloody horror films - but when done right CGI is a great tool as well. It really all comes down to how it's used, because when done poorly practical FX can look just as awful as bad CGI. And CGI has given us a lot of great stuff as well - it's ok to appreciate both, as they both require a lot of skill.

  • Savini is Super Mario!

  • Tom was the best part of Dawn of the dead [1978], Dawn of the dead [2004] and Land of the dead.

  • Tom is so awesome.

  • Rick Nake makes Savini look like kindergarten playdoh. What a clown.

  • @brendouall Dumbass troll!

  • i agree tom is the best ,i mean there are alot of greats, steve johnson, rick baker, rob bottin, knb, robert kurtzman ,dick smith ,wayne toth ,so many

  • mullets abound!

  • i wounder what its like to have Tom Savini as a father.

  • @WillKill4Weed

Dude, stick to your real father, Savini is an asshole!

  • hes the typical coke head dad lol. i wounder if he hit a few lines before the taping.

  • How come?

  • lol god bless 80's hair.

  • The thing in the crate is just awesome looking.

  • no amount of CGI will ever take away from the skill of tom savini; he has been a guru in makeup fx for 30 years almost and there is only so much you can do with cgi ... he is upclose and realistic as it can get. tom > all

  • @monkadelic13, the fx team on land of the dead were just as good imo. i agree that cgi sucks!

  • @monkadelic13 goddamn right, stole the words right out my mouth homie

  • Is CGI cheaper or something?

  • More flexible. But the beauty of practical effects is that you know its there. It creates a presence that CGI stuff still can't duplicate. And in the end its just practical. But i dont knock CGI. I still think its good and can help move things along. Check out "Metal gear: Philanthropy" Its free to download. Its an hour long fan movie. Made for a budget of $13,000. Their CGI turned their 13K movie into a million dollar movie. (Made it look that way)

  • For sure! your have a good points dude. I'll check out the vid, metal gear is the shit.

  • man,, i miss the old days when cgi was nonexistant

  • me too man.. me too.. its fucking awesome for video games but thats it

  • @pacman80500 im with you on that one, i just watched the new survival of the dead and the cgi just looks cheap and nasty. day and land of the dead had amazing make up effects, why romero chose not to use savini or the lotd make up artist on diary or survival is a mystery.

  • @pacman80500 Now they think this

"Thats old, this is new and better, cause is most expensive"

A Nightmare on elm street 2010 suckz, Friday the 13th suks, Halloween of Rob Zombie was the only classic make up i ever seen on this days oh and Guillermo del Toro films like Hellboy and the otherz

  • @pacman80500 Most effects, especially in horror films, these days aren't CGI unless it's high budget as most CGI artists, to produce something that fits well with the surrounding area, costs a lot. You'd be surprised how much is still practical.
