  • and the RESULTS?

  • I am the 80 thousandth viewer! :)

  • EPIC fail...

  • FAIL

  • I'm not sure which is worse, this or the 97 Ford F-150. Both are horrible in crashes.

  • The Pontiac Montana, the new standard of your most painful and agonizing death!

  • Why was the bitch driving my van? she needs to get back in the kitchen

  • Safety fail.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheArtObsessed

Have you ever seen a Volvo on head collision...cause im sure it doesnt look like this.

  • @Inteceptor

no cause i barely see anyone drive a volvo

i think its the least driving company in my area cause ive seen like 2 on the road in the past 3 years

  • ahahah failed

  • Were the groceries OK?

  • And we say Chinese cars are unsafe.... Ironic how GM has kept this particular model unchanged for 7 years (1997-2004). Even the Chinese have managed to improve their cars to a 3.5star E-NCAP rating within 5 months of their first 1 star crash test, and are working on one that would achieve 5 stars in the near future.

  • @ssj4david why do you think gm went bankrupt? Its a shity comoany, so it chrysler

  • Ok this scares the shit out of me, I have an 04. I dont think I will be putting my kids in that car anymore. Thank god for my cobalt. Watch now I am going to have nightmares. Maybe I will trade the pos in.

  • You don't even need the sound on

    To hear the crunchiness

  • AMERICAN MADE SHIT!

  • if u have this opinion just watch a crash test of an opel sintra (ok, opel is part of gm, and the montana is similar to the opel but whatever)

im european but just because im german i dont say that only german cars are good and the rest is shit

  • wow, my uncle has one

  • ahahhahaha

  • thats the fkin emergency brake

  • che macchina di merda...

  • my 02' montana didnt crumble like that wen i got hit by a 2000 mercedes suv with bushbars lol, transports suck

  • I agree i have been hit too and ddi not crumble i only had a small dents under 80km

  • yeah, but this car is way more expensive than the chinese cars, and remember, the Pontiac Montana is a MPV, meaning kids is going to be in it...

  • What the f- is wrong with you? there's a difference between being biased and stupidity and I think you crossed both of those lines just now.

  • I bet your family is glad to know you value a non safe car over their lives.

  • An idiot is what you are. The Toyota Camry is the "most American" vehicle you can buy. It is manufactured in America by Americas, and uses US made components from American suppliers, not from China. You go ahead and drive something unsafe because of your retarded opinion. Here is the list for you: 1 - Toyota Camry 2 - Ford F-150 3 - Chevrolet Malibu 4 - Honda Odyssey 5 - Chevrolet Silverado 1500 6 - Toyota Sienna 7 - Toyota Tundra 8 - GMC Sierra 1500 9 - Ford Taurus 10 - Toyota Venza
  • you must work for toyota, because i know for a fact that 80% of toyota's profits go back to japan where they started the company. not china, i can already tell you don't know anything about the auto industy.

  • You know for a FACT that 80% of their profits return to Japan?

So Toyota released a CONFIDENTIAL INTERNAL financial document to you, and now you have knowledge that no one outside of Toyota does? That is a really cute story, but I'm not buying it.

I don't work for Toyota and I actually despise every single current model that they manufacturer. I get invited to automotive press events, people outside of the industry don't get invited to those. That should give you a clue of what I do.

  • I do like the part of you not likeing the toyota models, i hate toyota too. But i do work in part with GM so i do get a little bit of the inside info that goes down in the automotive world. All i'm saying is that toyota is far from any American car. And i don't like how they can get away with saying there cars are American made. japan's government doesn't let GM do that in their country.

  • Okay, but most of their models ARE American made, by American workers which get paid in US in plants on US soil.

The thousands of components and stamped steel panels are made here in the US by American workers being paid in US funds.

How are their vehicles not American made?

How can GM get away with building vehicles in Canada and Mexico and call it American? Canada isn't the US and Mexico certainly isn't.

  • all i know is that the toyota and honda plans hire a very high number of japan descendants, so if you're an American don't plan on walking in there and getting a job easy. also japan makes GM advertise themselves as American made cars over there so it's less appealing for people to buy their cars in japan

  • @sleeksilver but Americans are getting TOO fat so workers down the assembly line that need to get into the the vehicles to install parts are having difficulty

  • @bergsteinlife sorry but your the most ignorant person ive ever met

  • i feel sorry for the dummy.... tat car got f**** up

  • Progress at it's finest....

  • This is why NEW is NOT necessarily a better thing. I love the early trans sports and APV however...the underrated 'Boogie Machine' LOL

  • acutallt when the Pontiac Montana was introduced when they introduced a driver side slinding door the crah test was a little better than this but then in 2005 they were rated good ratings

and ever since the Pontiac Montana has become the best selling minivan in Canada anyways

  • 0 stars >:(

  • just like chinese cars

  • as there is a a new 2009 model coming out very shortly in amtter in fact they are on sale now

GM no longer makes there minivan strucutre like this after 2000 they where improved but much andin 2005 earned them a five star take a look Pontiac Montana and Chevy Uplander are still around in canada and selling like hot cakes

    google GM CANADA

as there is a a new 2009 model coming out very shortly in amtter in fact they are on sale now

  • WOW! I know so many people that own this model and all that are similair! What an unsafe car. I think they went wrong in building it as a unibody structure.

  • piece of shit other north american car

  • thats a trans sport not a montana.

  • You realize of course that those are identical vehicles minus the badges right?

  • yeah i do, but im just saying.. im a perfectionist like that...

  • Same bullshit.

  • leave car making to europeans. To bad americans make the most safest cars that accully have balls on them. I have a pontiac montana and its a minivan and it has more balls then a fucking compact in europe! nothing matches up to american power plus saftey.

  • Just leave the car making to the europeans, please!

  • I guarantee that GMminivans9968 had made so many duplicate accounts so he could minus ForiegnCars121's comments cause he obviously is a liar.

  • See? And then he goes to the duplicate accounts to minus my comments!

  • this is why i don't wanna a mini van.

  • can gm make a safe car... seriously

  • chevy camero look it up...

  • all the gm minivan suck beside the uplander

  • hahaha ud die fuckin shitty ass pontiac

  • ouch..poor dummy

  • wow that thing sucks you should check out the neon it gt crushed. and the 98 f-150

  • thats comforting.

  • Oh my God. I will never buy american car. I dont want die in accident.

  • eh, dont buy a GM car. Their Airbags DONT deploy.

That means no Opel/Vauxhaull/Sabb (fake euro brands)

  • "sabb" wow, never knew about such brand, fucktard

  • fine its Saab.

got i dont give a flying fuck, its just another pos generic motors car!

    volvos are better!

  • Pontiac Montana es una PORQUERIA ESE AUTOMOVIL ES INSEGURO

  • gm improved them near the end of 2002 cyle with a applicable rating but after the 2005 model they were good ratings

  • Comment removed

  • No, the most certainly did not. The IIHS rating for the GM U-bodies did not change from 1997 to 2004. They all received the same rating of poor for each year. The NHTSA, by contrast, does not test vehicles in an offset crash, which is much more showing example of a vehicle's integrity. It was not until 2005 when GM overhauled the U-body that their rating improved in the offset test. In fact, it got a top rating of good. Take off your blinders, these vans were not improved before then.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm really not. Besides unrealistic NHTSA testing results, where is your proof? In 2001, the only difference was one added star for the passenger, which, is actually the same rating it got in 1997 (for 1998, 1999, and 2000, it only had three for the passenger) and one LESS star for side rear passenger side impact. Many cars tested on the NHTSA have those discrepancies, without any structural changes. So, besides the NHTSA, what proof do you have to verify your claims? Honestly asking...

  • Comment removed

  • You didn't answer my question.

In a real world accident, how likely are you to run straight on into a concrete wall? Not very. The IIHS represents accidents that are more likely to occur, offset with a crush-zone representing another vehicle in an accident. The IIHS uses nearly the same crash tests as the EuroNCAP, which has been touted as one of the toughest tests that show a vehicles true colors.

  • Again, what proof do you have besides varying ratings on NHTSA?

As I said, the 1997 Venture received EXACTLY the same frontal rating as a 2001 Venture. This video is for the 1997 model year, no? If there were improvements, even the NHTSA's ratings don't show it.

  • my older minivan looked just like the white one in this one, and it had the same wheel cover as this one, the only thing was it was longer than this. It was the extended.

  • They would be the same size after you crashed it, lol.

  • my looks like that white one to

  • with what? a "new" grill? there were no safty improvements made at all in 2001.

they are the same from 1997-2004

  • Why da hell americans build cars of paper? To be lighter? And safety, not applicable?

  • Comment removed

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaand, DEAD!

  • Comment removed

  • look stycel u have said that a million times allready everyone knows.

  • Comment removed

  • actually it was 2001 when they improved, thats what the new grills were for

  • Comment removed

  • I feel bad for a relative of mine who owns a similar vintage Venture... She has a newborn.

  • Comment removed

  • Do you have any reading comprehension whatsoever? Or perhaps a well developed vocabulary? "Similar vintage Venture", meaning, simply enough, a Venture of same vintage as the Montana shown in the video. The context in which 'vintage' is used does not mean 'old' as I presume you are insinuating. It's really not that hard to understand.

  • Comment removed

  • One, words have more than one meaning. Two, how a word is used in context can clearly show the intended meaning. It doesn't take a genius to figure this out. If you lack the reading comprehension of an 8th grader and must resort to such immature comments, you're quite pathetic.

  • Comment removed

  • That doesn't negate what context a word is used in, regardless of what meanings may be more commonly used. It's basic reading comprehension taught early on in school. Your profile says you're 18, this should all be fresh in your mind. ;)

  • after the 2001 models GM has been Made som uch improvments and now it earhned them a 5 Star Minivan for the SV6

  • Comment removed

  • then prove it. back up what you say, or quit runnin your mouth.

i think that the 97-05 models are all the same for gm. UNSAFE!

  • Comment removed

  • Unfortunately, 'backing up your opinions' and giving referenced, objective proof are not included in GMminivans9968's limited selection of mental capabilities.

However, s/he is correct in saying that s/he is not a soccer mom. That is because ALL soccer moms have brains that GMminivans9968 so sorely lacks.

  • Comment removed

  • Holy shit. Even the Chinese make safer cars.

  • Comment removed

  • What about the poor suckers driving around in the pre 2001 deathtraps?.

  • Comment removed

  • GMminivans9968 what r u somekind of soccermom?

  • Comment removed

  • Take a look at some of GMminivans9968's other comments...s/he's a retarded nutjob who jerks off watching his Montana SV6 depreciate to dust faster than he can say "I love GM!".

  • Comment removed

  • You never said sorry you said "Okay....." And When people say that I think they are being sarcastic.

  • LOL you replied within two minutes. you don't that kind of service anywhere! Anyway I said sorry, Do you want to aswell?

  • Comment removed

  • I guess the poster of this video (my friend) Just wanted to show how crappy that the 1997-2000 models were, Sorry if I was harsh to you, Thats just me!

  • Comment removed

  • Friends? Actually the poster of this video is one of my best friends. And if GM rocks so much explain this video.

  • Comment removed

  • The video speaks for itself

  • Comment removed

  • Again, the video speaks for itself. I'm a GM fan, I have a classic 1984 Cutlass Supreme sitting in my driveway. I am not bashing GM, but I'm not oblivious. Those vans were death traps. When they overhauled them, yes, they corrected many of the design flaws that caused them to crumple like such. A duh.

  • Comment removed

  • Secondly, let's clear something up, the IIHS who conducted the above test, does not use a star rating system. They rate using grades. Poor, Marginal, Acceptable, and Good. As well, all three GM U-bodies, 1997 through 2004, received the same rating of Poor. This "fact" about them being structurally improved in 2001 is completely false. They weren't improved until 2005. Those models do, in fact, receive a grade of Good from the IIHS.

  • prove this "so called" fact.

    YOU CANT!

  • Why are you standing up for GM Minivans? I think you're the one that is a retard, You sit on youtube all day to defend you're gay ass GM vans. Go crawl in a hole and die, nobody likes you.

  • Comment removed

  • Hurray - Another YouTube Comment argument

  • Comment removed

  • That has nothing to do with what im talking about.

    Leave everyone alone GMminivans9968

  • Comment removed

  • again WHO CARES! the entervan wasnt chrysler's fault. it was the conversion companys fault! and ive never seen a chrysler on fire, but have seen gm and ford cars. and the seatback failure is an isolated problem.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • i found the video u prolly watched. thats not it.

    im lookin for it.

  • Comment removed

  • okay... sure.

  • Comment removed

  • um, im looking or the video. its there.

  • Comment removed

  • GM Sucks ass, And don't flame me "GMminivans9968" Because you are a fag

  • Comment removed

  • More written diarrhea spews forth everyday. If GM paid him/her a penny for every post supporting a soon-to-be-defunct lineup of minivans, Gmminivans9968 would be a millionaire!

  • Comment removed

  • horrable horrable van. in looks, quality, reliability, and safty!

  • Comment removed

  • lol, GM is discontinuing the minivans like Ford did. (thank god they suck)! If I had to have an American minivan, I would get the 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan, those are nice. But Honda, Toyota and Nissan minivans are the best overall.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • Obviously, GM is paying this person some pretty crazy sums of money to spew the unadulterated, pure shit that is coming from him.

  • Comment removed

  • THAT WAS BRUTAL

  • Comment removed

  • Many people still drive this death trap, and no, the Oddyses and Sienna, that's Honda and Toyota, respectfully, perform better than the new versions of this van. GMC just sucks, no offesnse.

  • Comment removed

  • I'd rather drive a Dodge Caravan Chrysler Town and Country or a Plymouth Voyager. I'd be safer that way...

  • Unless the seatbelts come undone in a crash...

  • what do you mean? they had adaquite seatbelts (for the time) and they changed them through out the 5 generations of the origonal minivan. prove me otherwise.

  • Comment removed

  • ive seen the crash test of a 2001 opel on youtube. it barley did better, you would almost ceartianly breakk you leg still. the video of the 2001+ is here. just look. it is still verry bad! the chrysler vans did better!

  • Comment removed

  • ive seen it! it was a 2001.

  • Comment removed

  • Well, I just read somewhere that the ones from the late 90's were not designed properly for whatever reason. Something called a 'ball test', don't ask me. Ask the experts

  • Comment removed

  • the ones from the late 90's were fine. ive seen them. they met safety standards for the time.

  • Comment removed

  • it was ulgy anyway
